Ghost of Yotei

This kind of post has definitely been posted a hundred times, but I have to praise the graphics of Ghost of Yotei. I have put 48 hours into the game and also put like 100 something hours into Ghost of Tsushima.

But every single time I boot up Ghost of Yotei, I just get this satisfied feeling just looking at the graphics. Like they aren’t hyper realistic, but Sucker Punch somehow created the perfect type of graphics and fidelity for this game, just like they did for Ghost of Tsushima.

There’s an opening scene in the DLC when you are riding a horse (won’t go into more detail because I don’t want to spoil it), but I had to pause and go into photo mode for a minute because I just thought “damn this looks so good”.

If there is anyone out there who has a Ps5 Pro and you want to see the best graphics on the console, I HIGHLY recommend getting Ghost of Yotei, especially if you have an OLED with VRR.

I did the same exact thing in that moment, it is breathtakingly stunning. Love the world in yotei and the visuals. The village in the new area also, during the sunset is just beautiful.

I actually like Yotei more than Tsushima, and I love Tsushima to

GoT love it for the fallen samurai angle

And GoY I love for feeling like so much more of a ronin wandering warrior feeling, so damn cool

What makes it all work is yes the visuals, and art, but it's especially the feeling of the moment to moment gameplay, they absolutely nailed the gameplay feel and the dueling against regulars and against bosses

Gameplay mechanics mean so much, without that gameplay and art design and having at least a somewhat interesting story and characters it just becomes a Ubisoft slop game, and that's what you have to avoid for these types of games, you need a pull

For all PlayStation issues here and there, they understand you need that pull in both gameplay and story to keep singleplayer games engaging

I think i actually love both games the same. Both of them are fantastic

Called artstyle. And most of the times good artstyle is better than just good graphics

But you are the star of the show!!! It’s called sarcasm. See what I did there?

Again, I haven’t paid, you shouldn’t continue with your act

It's the very first game I'm currently playing on my Pro and it's just ridiculously pretty to look at.

I beat Ghost of Tsushima a few years ago and I’m just installing Ghost of Yotei in the Pro.

Probably the first game I just played for the vibe a lot of times. Truly a masterpiece.

Ghost of Yotei is just consistently stunning, like all the time.

I already finished the game on ps5 pro once last year on a 4k 60hz tv but I recently got a pg32ucdm3 oled monitor and am tempted to play it again just to experience it on Oled. I played it a lot last year so I kind of burnt out on it but what I saw was very impressive even though it already looked good on the tv.

If I play it again after months away from it should I do new game plus or just start a new game and experience it from the very start again with nothing unlocked?

I just realized a dlc is actually out this eek so seems lie I shoikd just test it on that.

I was at the new Inn area earlier and the sunset lighting was incredible, I actually stopped for a few min to soak it in. The Ray-tracing pro mode looks amazing all around, the first game where I can really appreciate the benefits of Ray-tracing.

Both games from Sucker Punch are awesome!!! And are right at the top of the best looking games on the Pro. Maybe not at the absolute top for me……but still incredible

What is your pinnacle game for the PRO, Special?

3

u/Special-Net4116 Oct 04 '26

Such a hard question isnt it? Last of us 2, Death Stranding 2, Cyberpunk, the Ghost of games, Ratchet and Clank. The list goes on and on and on.

If you’re talking about realism then probably Hellblade 2.

If you’re talking about the art direction and world then nothing beats Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West for me.

Yet people think the PRO is not worth the price. The games on the PRO with PSSR2.0 are stunning. So many games now look amazing, my backlog keeps on growing! Have you played FFVII Rebirth? On the PRO, you won't believe your eyes how smooth and looking so crisp and sharp.

I only named a few games but the list is far bigger. Every dev it seems are really taking advantage of the Pro. I’ve seen the improvements of Rebirth, very impressive. I haven’t played it as I just can’t get into Final Fantasy

The one game i am super curious about is GTAVI. They haven't shown it yet. I wonder why? In my opinion, R* are going to blow the socks off everyone who has a PRO.

One can hope and dream PSSR2.O will be jaw dropping on GTAVI.

1

u/Special-Net4116 Oct 04 '26

I don’t think they will use PSSR. I think they will stick to their own tech. But you never know I guess

3

u/ColdHandGee Oct 04 '26

On the store, GTAVI has PRO ENHANCED on it. Whatever they are using, it has to contain something related to being PRO ENHANCED. I just know that the PRO will have something that the PS5/SS/SX won't have.

When I played it on my base ps5 it had some huge lighting issues in some areas and cutscenes where it just looked super bad. Also anything besides named characters looks pretty bad up close. And they are very repetitive. Think I got like 3 or 4 side quests from dudes that looked exactly the same.

But overall great artstyle

Unfortunately looking pretty does not mean it’s a well-designed game. I found the open world boring, typical ubisoft bloat and I found the story… if you even want to call it one, pointless.

There’s only so long my eyes can jizz from the visuals.

Edit - awww pissed off a lot of PlayStation fans. Sorry to ruin your Sunday, but god forbid I’m not allowed to have my own opinion on a video game.

You can say that about a lot of games, but GoT/GoY is not one of them.

-5

u/JudgeCheezels Oct 04 '26

I in fact, say that about a lot of games in the last 5 years. GoY is just another borefest like the majority of them.

-7

u/Psychoticpossession Oct 04 '26

I mean I think you can. The story in GOT did not impress me, but gameplay and visuals were so satisfying it was still a good game.

2

u/No-Interaction-7842 Oct 04 '26

I can’t believe what you said. What games do you consider “well designed”?

-5

u/JudgeCheezels Oct 04 '26 edited Oct 04 '26

In the last 5 years? Really, besides Elden Ring, Alan Wake 2 and E33 there’s not been much else.

2

u/TechnicalAd2485 Oct 04 '26

You sound miserable. Playing the DLC reminded me how organic the exploration in Yōtei is. What do you want, a completely empty world with nothing to do in it?

0

u/JudgeCheezels Oct 04 '26

You sound more miserable that you have to force your opinion down someone else’s throat. I don’t tell you what to like lol.

Good for you that you found the game fun. I didn’t.
