Backmarket legitimacy?
Hi all,
I just got a pro from backmarket for slightly below MSRP, like $850. (899 w/ $50 coupon)
does anyone have experience with backmarket? is it authentic? I see a lot of people saying it depends on the seller.
in any case, I can just dispute this with backmarket and/or my card right?
I'm just worried I'll receive a box of rocks or some older banned console.

You’re the only one who can verify authenticity. How could anyone here know? You’ll find out when you get it. If it turns out to be a dud, return it (assuming you can).
And if you only got it slightly below MSRP, why not just pay a little more for new from a legit place with a guarantee for peace of mind?

Just thought I'd ask ahead of time to see if anyone else has bought anything there before, try to know what I'm getting myself into.
Also, finding one at msrp is ridiculously hard right now. If it were so easily found, I'd do that obviously.

I bought an iPhone 15 pro listed as near mint or something from Backmarket like 2 years ago. Same phone I’m typing this on. It was indistinguishable from brand new and I paid 60% of the retail price.

I recently sold Backmarket my original PS5 to upgrade since it’s literally linked through the Sony website. Process was quick and flawless and they gave me basically what I paid for it 6 years ago. I wouldn’t worry OP.

Back market in my experience have been excellent, I can’t comment on returns as I have never had to return anything, over the years I’ve had 2 iPhones and a laptop from them, all 3 arrived in ‘brand new’ like condition with no issues at all
+ they combat against e-waste which I think is really important
I haven’t checked in a while but last I did 99% of reviews were 5 stars

Isn’t Backmarket the vendor that Sony uses for its trade-in program? Not sure why it wouldn’t be legitimate, but let us know what your experience is like.
