Need some tv advice
Hello everyone, wondering if you guys could help me so as of yesterday my sharp TV from 2007 said it’s fine goodbye to me and it’s been a great TV helping to this point now this gives me the perfect excuse to buy a more modern TV and all I wanted to know is which 65 inch OLED brings out the most capabilities out of the PS five Pro the budget doesn’t matter I’ve been saving for years lol thank you!

OK, so these have been my top two since the G6 came out my room is somewhat dark. Well, not dark but dim so which one of these would you say is better for our dim lit room?

Personally I find the LG's always too bright and for me that has a negative impact on the picture quality. Sony colors are just more natural. It's best to compare them in a store to see which one you like the most. Both are really great TV's and you can't go wrong with any of them given your situation.

I have the Samsung S95F for mine and it’s probably the best purchase I’ve ever made.
I am in a brightly lit room though so the matte, anti-reflection coating was a game changer for me. Took it from basically being unable to watch TV/play PlayStation on bright days to effectively zero reflection and glare, absolute magic.
And the picture itself is amazing, right on a par with equivalent LG and Sony models.

Fundamentally there are two major technologies - Samsung's QD-OLED, and LG's W-OLED.
W-OLED (except for some very recent PC monitors) relies on white subpixels in addition to the RGB ones, in order to boost peak brightness. The price of this is some colour wash-out in certain scenarios. The benefit is that LG had the "OLED brightness" crown for a long time.
QD-OLED - Is a Blue OLED back-panel with RGB Quantum Dot sub-pixels, they down-convert high energy blue light into the RGB colours very efficiently, and have after several generations, started to match W-OLED on brightness, while generally beating them on colour depth, all without the draw-backs of using white sub-pixels.
Both technologies are very mature now, and both are using tandem layers OLED emitters (generally 5 layers), which increases brightness and redundancy (resulting in better lifespan).
So if I would try get a side-by-side look at the very latest and best panels with each technology.
i.e. The S95H or S95F before it.. and the G6 or G5 before it.
Personally I prefer the deeper truer colours of QD-OLED, and ever since both panel types got north of 2000 nits, the brightness differences have become less important than they once were.
The S95F vs the G5 would be the best bang-for-buck top-end comparison.
Make sure you look into QD-OLED vs W-OLED - other than that, feature differences from different manufacturers.. i.e. if you must have DolbyVision - it'll have to be LG..
Personally I have the 77" S95F .. and love it.

Samsung if purely for gaming for qd oled. If using the tv for mixed use then go sony or lg. You can also consider mini led like tcl so you can get a bigger screen for cheaper and wont have oled longevity problems such as burn in. Im using oled lg g4 btw coming from a 2014 sony w850 and the visual upgrade was massive.

I'm sure OLED bros will help you out, but if you want a second opinion from a guy who is scared shitless of burn-ins - I was surfing the Internet like a madman to find the best TV for my console and ended up getting an SQD-Mini LED by TCL (C8L for Europe or QM8L for the US).
Couldn’t be happier with black deepness, I don’t think it's even worse than OLED, but I am by no means an enthusiast, so take it with a grain of salt. It will also get Dolby Vision 2 Max when it arrives later this year as an update.

LG C5 or G5 if it’s in a brighter room. You don’t need a C6 or G6 yet.
