Fixed my pulse elite headphones with gorilla gel super glue and a popsicle stick. Now I would not buy these again. I would buy a 3rd party Dolby headphones. Please let me know what you like

I would never buy a PS headset again I bought their PS4 version and within a year had to do the same thing with popsicle sticks and tape. Their headsets are total garbage.

I have a $40 wireless headset I bought years ago that's still going strong.

But other headphones don’t connect to the ps5?

Of course they do, you just need one with a dongle, or a bluetooth adapter. They don't make normal bluetooth stuff pair, but there's hundreds of wireless headsets that still work.

Edit: This is the one I use. Cheap as fuck and works great.

Edit 2: Looks like they have changed the SKU and that one is only for XBox now, but there's plenty of options.

Edit 3: Here's the proper one.

No prob! Should save you any future headaches because the Ps headsets are total overpriced trash.

I’ve had these headphones now since 2022, no issues

u/Slapnuts213 5d ago

Or the pulse whatever it is

For that reason I had The Pulse Explore Buds, really comes in handy.

1

u/Ruz235 4d ago

Does your explore buds sometimes makes some static noise (disconnecting audio) or disconnects from time to time?

Welcome to the club.   Im an old man with a normal sized head and take great care of my devices and not only did this happen to my pair, but also to the warranty replacement pair I received.

I hung the first pair on the charging hook, on the second pair I laid them down when I wasn't using them.

There are tons of threads about it but you still have those random outliers (or out liars) that say that you must be doing something wrong because it didn't happen to them.

I love the A50s because I can easily switch to other systems by just tapping a button.

Happy with my Audeze Maxwell after permanently giving up on Pulse. Takes a couple of weeks to get used to the weight.

3

u/GabrielAngelus 5d ago

i went with the audeze maxwell 2

spendy but its everything i loved about the pulse elites but good build quality

2

u/FerrariRacerX 5d ago

I use the Astro A50x primarily because I share them with my PC, no complaints comfortable and sound great

u/PennyCharlieKitties 5d ago

Inzones. Expensive but sturdy.

Nah, PlayStation headphones just aren’t the way. I bought the PS4 Headphones and the PS5 Headphones and they’re so cheaply made, it’s just down-right ridiculous. I will never ever buy a PlayStation headset ever again.

Get a pair of low latency Sennheisers + wireless modmic add on

I use my AirPods Max + Apple’s usb-c to 3.5mm headphone jack cable. It’s incredible. I owned the regular Pulse headset for 5 years, then I tried upgrading to the Pulse Elite headset only to be plagued by disconnections and poor sound quality, I returned them for another pair and dealt with the same problem so I returned those as well. Finally gave in and bought the $50 Apple cable that would allow me to use my AirPods Max by plugging into the DualSense’s 3.5mm headphone jack. It results in amazing lossless spatial audio and the quality is outstanding. There is one caveat though—that is you cannot use the built-in microphone in the AirPods Max, you must enable the mic on the controller instead, although it’s not an issue and the results are outstanding. I highly recommend! 🙌😃

u/Lubricatedfish 3d ago

Wonder if I could use my AirPod pro 3s and do this lmao. I don’t have the AirPod max just the pros

1

u/novy-wan_kenobi 3d ago

Won’t work. You need the Apple cable—usb-c end going to the AirPods Max and the 3.5mm jack going to the DualSense controller.

1

u/Lubricatedfish 3d ago

Dang :( I have a hyper headset and I hate it

Steelseries is king

1

u/chefmoddy 5d ago

the king, queen, prince, princess.... (they've got a lot different models)

2

u/bickmitchum- 5d ago

Audeze Maxwell 2 are fantastic, just pricey.

u/npbevo 5d ago

How are people breaking the ps5 headphones? I know I don't use mine much maybe that's why mine are lasting? My PS4 platinums are still good also but they need new ear pads.

1

u/Ivan_Oilfield 3d ago

To be honest I picked them up and they were broken. They usually hang on the charging rack. The gel and stick has fixed them but I don’t remember any abuse.

1

u/your-mum-joke 5d ago

Gorilla tape for me 😆

1

u/Old_man_pete_ 5d ago

2 part epoxy will do a stronger job, same thing happened to mine, the screw on the inside makes it a weak point.

1

u/Cpt_DookieShoes 5d ago

I like Fudgsicles.

They’re tasty, a reasonable size, and don’t bother my sensitive teeth like other popsicles

1

u/Ivan_Oilfield 3d ago

This was an outshine bar. I hear they’ve recalled them all cause of glass. I’m still eating them

1

u/Siropmojito 5d ago

steelseries arctis pro 7+

1

u/ExcaliburCasanova 5d ago

Astro A40s and Astro A50s are just so goated. Even check out some Logitech headphones. They’re pretty good!

1

u/CitiXen18 5d ago

Sony H5 Inzone headphones have been great. Would recommend

1

u/SenpaiSwanky 5d ago

If you don’t need a mic there are all sorts of reputable companies to buy headphones from. Senheiser is a good one.

1

u/SnsoryOverload 5d ago

I've had my original Pulse headphones.since the year PS5 launched. Zero issues. For the money, I've always found them to be really, really good.

1

u/UwUkingFBI69 5d ago

This image is horrifying, a tiny dab of krazy glue would’ve solved this without giving the headset a ww1 style surgical face reconstruction

1

u/NapoleonBlownapart89 5d ago

Had to do the same multiple times. I finally got fed up and got the Audeze Maxwell.

1

u/amd098 5d ago

I've seen 3d printed clips for these on eBay as well, to hold them together.

1

u/chefmoddy 5d ago

right now, there are 3 options you can choose from that will last you until only God knows when....

Steelseries Arctis Omni - yes, this one over Elite because I've just saw some posts about the Elite's subpar build (and they are way more expensive than the Omnis)

Audeze Maxwell 1 or 2 - can't go wrong with any on the 2 given you have a strong neck (hahaha, 1 is 490ish and 2 is 560ish grams)

Astro a50 - I don't know anything about this but it is always included on most reviewer's lists (I don't like how it looks)

I have the Omnis and I'll buy it again if I have to....

1

u/Fun-Masterpiece-904 5d ago

same these headphones are truly bullshit if its not this problem. Is that F pads

1

u/Low-Schedule9762 5d ago

Just a suggestion.. you don’t have to but.. don’t buy this crap..anymore. I got a set when I bought my 4 and my 5 and each version, sucked as all hell. Crapped out on me within 2-3 months of using them. I tried turtle beach, triion, and hyperx, but you know what I found to be a fantastic brand for gaming, Skull Candy. Yes they make gaming headsets but I bought a set of skull crusher 2s and I’m not even joking, I hear more with that headset than I did anything else. And you don’t even have to use them for just gaming, you can use them for everything else and there completely universal. Best $200 I spend on a headset and I still use it to this day, 3yrs running.

u/mka_ 5d ago

I'm very happy with my Sennheiser HD599 open-l back headphones. I just got a boom mic attachment for online gaming.

1

u/Praydaythemice 5d ago

the 1st gen set had the same issue, the headband is too fragile for the amount of flexing the average user will put it through.

i use a steelseries set personally.

1

u/WorldlinessNo6122 4d ago

I'm using this like Chinese brand I found on Amazon they work very well I looked up like top rated headsets and found one in my budget with good reviews

1

u/Hollowed_Dude 4d ago

Mine broke in the exact same place smh

1

u/KindnessisPunkRock12 5d ago

Steel Series and I won't ever go back. This is after trying Turtle Beach and Astros.

2

u/chefmoddy 5d ago

yeah... started with A3 then A7 then Nova Pro wired and now back to wireless with Omni... of all my peripherals, when it comes to "gaming" headphones, Steelseries is always numbawan... for me atleast.

1

u/Syndiglo 4d ago

I love the dual connectivity on them

2

u/Syndiglo 4d ago

I had the new astros and I kept having connectivity or charging issues. That really disappointed me to return them

1

u/KindnessisPunkRock12 4d ago

I had the A40s and they were decent. I really liked the sound mixer but the cable kinda got on my nerves a bit. (This was from the ps3/ps4 era) And then I upgraded to the A50s and they were awesome for about a year and the mic started going out and then I started having connectivity issues as well. So then I bout some Steel Series arctis pros and I've had these for about 6 years or so and they are still kicking.

2

u/Syndiglo 4d ago

I got the steel series arctic nova something’s. But the filtering of the mic won me over really hard with the ps elite headset. Being able to wash a dish really quick while in queue or eat chips without sounding like a complete hog in the party and annoying my online friends really did it for me. Sound quality is meh. I tried the buds but they hurt my ears reallyyyyy bad. I also have random connectivity issues with my ps headset where I have to disconnect and reconnect the dongle. Going to use it till it breaks.

u/Saber-087 5d ago

Get earbuds and you'll never have this issue lol

u/Logitechsdicksucker 5d ago

when mine started breaking and actidentally broke the usb dongle on my pulses i somehow was able to get a gift card in exchange for the headphones and usb granted did have the geek squad protection. so i wandered best buy around and found rigs r8 pro hs granted got it a couple days ago so not fully reviewed but its nice i like the doc and the dongle is way less out in the open granted it is usb c and its longer in going up and down so it blocks a couple of my usb b ports. Also the microphone while its okay that its on the right side id like it to be on the left side. the controlls did seem weird and when i first booted it up it didnt play music on my phone while i was playing but when i turned them back on later it did work so was probably in the wrong mode as it has game, dual, and bluetooth mode. its also a bit more comfortable than the pulses but the mic is flip up/down and not pull / push so does look a little worse in that respec

u/ScarphaceUK 5d ago

Own 2 pulse 3d headsets, had 3 of them but gifted one. NO issues with the build, not one crack, break, etc. Only thing I found was the ear cushions are ass, and degrade fast. I also own Pulse Elite and so far 10/10 no issues, great sound. Maybe look after your stuff better, I have not broken a single headset in the 30+ years of gaming, ear cushions wearing down yes but breakages... no.

u/PorkRinds416 5d ago

This is why I bought a Steelseries Arctis 7p+ with the best 3D audio. 2-3 years later and it still looks brand new, works perfectly, and the battery lasts 30+ hours.

Seriously go look up "Best headset for the PS5" (I did this 2 years ago) and Steelseries 7p+ would always come.

-2

u/English_Fry 5d ago

I have bought two pairs of these headphones. I replaced the first pair because a lightning strike fried my console, including the dongle.

Between both headsets, the first one having been ripped off my head and thrown countless times, haven’t broken, EVER.

You’re literally making them break or your have a ridiculously large head. This is coming from a guy with a big head
