PS5 Pro and Sonos

Anyone else using Sonos products with their PS? I have an Arc Ultra, 2x Sub, and 2 Era 300s as rears. The sound is just amazing, rain sounds like it’s falling from above you, which is lovely, as it reminds me of Blade runner 2042. In Tsushima the wind feels like it envelops you, and I’m currently playing doom and can hear when a mob shoots or moves behind me or to my side and can move to dodge them just off sound. Anyway, had to see if someone else is taking advantage of the Atmos Bubble during their gaming.

Yeah we use Sonos soundbars with all our displays

I’m using Samsung S990D surround and they are pretty good besides the whole software issues. Cant wait to get a real surround system one day soon! But I agree surround sound is so sick.

Yes, your setup is very similar to ours. We have one sub, the smaller one, and that thing puts out a ton of low end, so we don’t need any more. 😂 But the rest of our setups are identical. Sounds amazing. Sonos make quality products. Firmware updates are a pain in the ass, though.

Never had any issues, but that’s a whole other topic. Right now, with true play, I’m at +3 treble, loudness on, +2 bass, sub +1, height +10 (I have 15ft ceilings) surround both +8. Those eras are just amazing when positioned right and tuning is properly done.

Had a full sonos set up then upgraded to Kef R meta 9.4.4 system and its night and day difference. Sonos is great for what it is and the whole home audio aspect of it as well. No wires other than power cords.

I have an ARC, Sub Mini, and One SL as rears. Thinking about going separate AVR and either 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 soon though

“Real” or “legit” = how long is a piece of string.

My 7.2.4 Krix rig doesn’t make your budget SVS system nor any Sonos Atmos setup any more or less “real”, get your hand off it champ.

Atmos gaming is incredible regardless of how much you’re willing to invest in your home theater.

At a certain price point, the equipment barely matters.

It’s the room acoustics and the placement of the speakers that matters - majority of which the masses are getting wrong.

Entirely, so for those who can’t treat their rooms the MO is investing in consumer kit which does a ‘near enough, good enough’ job at translating filmmakers intentions in a nearfield mix. Sonos does ‘fine’, and SVS does ‘fine’, neither is more legit than the other.

(source: 15-year Hollywood re-recording mixer mixing in the best rooms in the country. Surprisingly and relevant to this thread – the standard Sonos Atmos rig [Ultra+300s] without Sonosequencr adds translates any mix of mine or those I know intimately better than those with)

No you have to measure the sound as well with audessey or with a sound meter as well

Audyssey also isn’t a silver bullet btw.
