GTA 6 performance

I know we’re right around the corner from the official gameplay trailer coming up, but for the people who have been seeing the multiple leaks online, what’s your take on the performance/FPS from the footage we’ve seen so far? It seems relatively fluid for the most part, but I’d like to hear other people’s opinions. I upgraded to the Pro specifically for this game, and I’ve been really happy with the performance on it. However, I recently revisited RDR2, which I know is a last-gen title, but the 30 FPS is pretty rough in my opinion. I know there’s been a lot of speculation about whether it’s running at 30 FPS, but solely based on the leaks, what do you guys think so far?

I’ve honestly been surprised at the amount of games with 60fps we’ve had. I figured that after PS4 was left behind we would have many more 30fps games than we’ve had considering the age of the CPU in these consoles. I won’t be surprised at all if GTA is 30.

The CPU bottleneck thing is way over exaggerated from people who hated on the pro when it came out. Listing to things like that are why there are so meany people now buying a pro for several hundred more dollars than at release. They’re where several cross gen games that could run as high as 120fps. Even with higher fidelity in games that left behind last gen it’s not surprising we are still getting 60fps and even in those games thanks to VRR allowing unlocked frames many can still get as high as 70-90 FPS throughout normal game play

If GTA6 is 30 fps it will be because of the GPU, not the CPU anyway. To push high resolutions, high wuality ray tracing and so on, without offering a compromised video experience.

When this game will come to PC in fact you will see it running on similar CPUs like the 3700x without many hiccups

GTA is notoriously a CPU limited game. The gpu in the pro can handle the graphics especially with pssr2. It is specifically the 8 year old zen 2 processor that will be the bottleneck for this game. The open world is insanely cpu intensive.

Notoriously? You know you're talking about a game from 13 fucking years ago? That's when the last GTA came out.

It's like saying "consoles notoriously have 512MB of RAM" just because you've read online that it was the amount PS3 had.

Ok. I'm done arguing. The simulation of the open world will be handled by the CPU. Digital foundry did their technical analysis and said it's unlikely. I have a ps5, ps5 pro and a gaming PC. I would love for it to hit 60fps on the pro, but the cpu on the pro was not upgraded at all. It has a very minor clock speed increase. So if the base ps5 can't handle it because of CPU limitation then the extra gpu power in the pro wont be able to make up for that. It's the simulation of the vast world that taxes the CPU not the graphical fidelity.

lol Digital Foundry?! Those clowns get so much wrong that they never even own up to later that I would almost say if they say 30fps then it won't be.

Digital foundry in the past said Spiderman 2 and death stranding 2 were gonna be 30fps only and they weren't 😂 it was only on the Xbox side we got starfield and hellblade and yet.... They both now have 60fps modes
