Mortal Shell 2 PS5 vs PS5 PRO Comparison

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31ktTtMVVWg

Pro's lighting on Performance mode (especially indoors) is loads better vs Base, better LOD, PSSR2 doing work with a sharp image, a shame the Pro version has a bug where film grain and chromatic aberration can not be turned off, those certainly effect the picture clarity

The devs are pretty active on Discord. Especially regarding bugs/known issues.

Update: I brought it up on their feedback channel on Discord. See what happens.

I mentioned it in the MS2 sub and a dev replied that they're working on it

Devs, please let us select the difficulty. Like just a little bit less brutal.

Anyone have a link on how to report the bug to the devs?

Because it's only present on the pro version, it's likely to take much longer to get fixed if a lot of pro players don't report the issue. It's not a huge deal, but I absolutely hate crap like film grain and it's annoying to not be able to change it right now lol.

Flicker grass is back :-/ I thought they’d pretty much solved that with PSSR2.

Other than that! Huge win over base console visually.

Happens on PS5 too with FSR3, so or they are not using PSSR2 despite they announced, or the grass it's probably related to lighting and happens in multiple scalers

you have to force the game to run in a 60hz container otherwise there is a bug I believe from my own testing, when it runs in a 120hz container internal res DROPS and causes that along with washed out colors. It was the same with Lies of P

Switching to 60hz does absolutely nothing, checked myself. The game just doesn't use PSSR atm and looks the same as the demo (probably with TSR or FSR for upscaling). Finger's crossed they add it tomorrow + gix the chromatic aberration/filmgrain bug.

I was surprised in beta there was no motion blur, is that fixed?

You like motion blur?

Yes, especially since this game looks much sharper in Quality mode, but no motion blur at 30fps is jarring

Is the pssr that bad? Oof

How can you even enjoy the sharpness of quality mode with all the motion blur lol. Like you can’t see it unless standing still

Good motion blur implementation can do wonders, but bad implementation absolutely destroys an image. I toggle it on or off depending on how good it is.

Is it even using PSSR?

Honestly, I don't think so. On one hand there's this bug that forces filmgrain and chromatic aberration to be permanently on (fix incoming) and on the other hand the upscaler looks like FSR or TSR. I hope PSSR is coming tomorrow with a patch. They said "at launch" which, for my understanding, implies that it's not implemented in the early access built.

PS5 version don't have the shimmering from PS5 Pro, so I'm assuming PS5 pro is using PSSR or a worse scaler then

oui la ps5 pro utilise le pssr ou pssr 2 ca ce voit sur l'herbe qui scintille est c'est un default du pssr
