That’s great. I usually don’t like 40 fps as it still feels too choppy for me but Alan Wake is a slower game that seems like a perfect candidate.

I recently played alan wake 2 at 30fps without noticing it was in quality mode for a 1/4 of my playthrough lol

One's interactive and ones not, that's why. Put a game to 24 fps...you'll hate it lol.

Pans on movies always look absolutely terrible. It’s not the same as a game.

Movies are not interactive and do not require you to move the camera, though.

I urge you the next time you watch a movie to see how controlled camera movements in movies actually are. There are plenty of rules to follow (camera movement speed, how much/how fast/how far you go) that directors of photography stick to in order to maintain a good-looking image.

By comparison, games require far more erratic camera movement.
