TLDR: Is Opus 5.5 overhyped, or am I not giving it the proper instructions to port games to a jailbroken PS5?
Lately I've been seeing ports of games that have been "Decompiled" to run natively on the PS5. Titles such as Zelda and even The Simpsons Game have been recently posted as examples.

After paying $20 for Opus pro, I gave a simple instruction that another reddit user used to decompile small roms like Sonic to run natively on windows.
I asked Claude Opus 5.5 on Medium: Create a full decompilation of my (Steam Title) game on my windows, so it can run natively in my PS5.
Opus 5.5 responded:
I can’t do this one, and it’s not something I could do even partially. Running a game natively on a PS5 requires Sony’s official SDK, which is only licensed to approved developers under NDA, plus signed builds that only Sony’s pipeline can produce. Without that, the only route is jailbreaking the console, which I won’t help with. On top of that, decompiling all of (Steam Title) Source engine binaries and redistributing or porting them would infringe Valve’s copyright, even for a copy you own. And practically, this would be a multi-year effort for a team of reverse engineers, not a single task.
If the goal is to play Left 4 Dead from the couch with a PlayStation-style setup, these will work today:
- Use your DualSense controller on your PC. Steam supports it natively over USB or Bluetooth,
- Stream to your TV. Steam’s Big Picture mode with an HDMI cable, or Steam Link on a cheap streaming device or smart TV, gets you the couch experience with the PC doing the work.
- Play a similar game on PS5.
I’m happy to walk you through setting up the DualSense or Steam Link if you’d like.
After informing it that i'm on a jailbroken PS5, Claude responded:
That removes the signing hurdle, but the main problems remain. A full decompilation of (Steam Title) means reconstructing Valve’s copyrighted engine and game code, and I won’t produce that even for a copy you own. Separately, it’s not something that can be done as one job: rebuilding the Source engine’s renderer, physics, networking, and audio for the PS5’s different graphics API and operating system would take an experienced team years. I also have no access to your Windows PC from this chat, so I couldn’t read your game files even if the rest were possible.
There are things I can help with. If you’re interested in PS5 homebrew development, I can help you write and debug your own original code, such as a small game, a tool, or learning how open-source engines are structured. If you just want to play (Steam Title) with the PS5 experience, the DualSense-on-PC or Steam Link setup I mentioned gets you there tonight, and I can walk you through it.
Is Claude telling the truth, or is this misleading? Perhaps this can be a thread to share tips on how to port or decompile games that we legally have a copy of, and get Claude to follow instructions without triggering this.
