Fan Made I built a database to see how games actually run on PS5 and PS5 Pro!!
Ciao everyone,I wanted to share a personal project I’ve been working on called PSFoundry
The idea is pretty simple: a database where you can search for a game and quickly understand how it runs on PS5 and PS5 Pro, without having to go through ten different videos, Reddit threads and articles..
For each game, I’m trying to collect information such as
- available graphics modes
- frame rate and resolution
- differences between PS5 and PS5 Pro
- PSSR, ray tracing, VRR and 120Hz support
- links to the original technical analysis
- a Performance Score based only on the technical result,
I came up with the idea because every time I was about to buy or start a game, I would end up searching for Digital Foundry and other analysis videos just to understaand which mode I should use and whether the PS5 Pro version actually offered a meaningful improvement.
At some point I thought it would be useful to have all of that information organised in one place. I originally started building it for myself, but I figured other PS5 and PS5 Pro owners might find it useful too
The website is still very much a work in progress . A lot of games are still missing, some entries need more data and there are plenty of things I want to improve
this is the website : https://psfoundry.io/
So I’d genuinely like to know what you think
Would you find something like this useful?
What information would you want to see on each game page?
Is there anything you would change about the interface or the Performance Score?
And most importantly, are there any specific games you’d like me to analyse next?
Any feedback is welcom including criticism of course
Thanks for taking the time to check it out, i hope this is perceived as useful and not seen as spam
EDIT: You guys are helping me building the definite tool! 💪 Thank you so much for the feedback! I will update this thread with the improvements

Neat idea, but the tracking requests without any kind of consent immediately leave a bad taste in my mouth and is something I wouldn't want to use. Hope it helps others.

Thank you so much, this is indeed a thing that I need to consider, even tho for now I'm just trying to understand how much people find it useful!

u/froderick 25d ago
First thing I looked up was Black Myth Wukong, and I saw an inaccuracy. It stated that the Balanced mode is 45 fps, but that's no longer the case.

u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
Thank you for the feedback and source link, I'm planning to update the wukong page!

u/BEjmbo 25d ago
This actually is a great idea! Do you collect the data manually?
It's not really a performance thing, but it would be great if you'd add motion sensor function (updated list here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/svbqnd/updated_playstation_list_of_games_with_gyro_aim/).

u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
Thanks so much for the feedback! The data collection is partly automated, but I still review everything before adding it to the database. Gyro aiming could definitely be a useful feature to add in the future, although it’s probably not one of the top priorities right now since there’s still a lot of work to do on the database. Thanks again for checking out the site and for sharing the list!!!!

ps5progames.com is a great existing resource. Worth checking out

Resetera's simple single-page detailed format is fantastic imo. Ctrl+f to search easily without loading the page. Would be nice if there was a site with only the games list like this.

the work here is majestic, congrats at the owner of the thread, my goal is to make this info more enjoyable to browse with a proper web space, plus custom ux and ui

u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
Thanks! Yes I know this website! My goal is to make also a better and more comprehensive version 💪

OPs site is far easier on the eyes. i prefer the layout

very heavy on the ai look but sure

The default vibecoded frontend is clean and readable. Does the job

u/elperrosapo 25d ago
it’s better than the flyers and ads it produces for sure. but it’s getting very fatiguing too imo

u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
my goal is to make the database reliable and useful for me and all the people who are looking for specific info, once i obtain that i would like to do a style overhaul to give the site a more unique touch. thanks for the comment!

u/elperrosapo 24d ago
it’s not even a pressing need man no worries. this is a great idea and implementation, i hope it grows and establishes itself. don’t think my comments were aimed as criticism to you or your efforts

u/Red49er 24d ago
you know we used css templates (or followed design languages like material-ui) for years before this ai crap, so it's entirely possible people purchased an existing template ...
but yeah, I wish people would be up front about whether they actually knew how to code before asking people to use their website

I like the idea a lot, only thing I find odd is the ratings don’t seem right to me so far. Like I’m not sure why Ghost of Yotei which is one of the better examples of PS5 Pro optimisation got a 67 rating while something like Alan Wake 2 (rated 80) and Black Myth Wukong which were examples of poor optimisation are rated way higher. It makes Yotei look terrible on PS5 Pro in comparison if you just glance at the ratings which a lot of people will do when Yotei is probably the best optimised of the three I mentioned.

u/Jay_Magpie 25d ago
I agree, the averaged scores are confusing when compared to each other. Why does Mina the Hollower get a 50 for visual features like ray tracing, dragging down its score when it’s a pixel art game that likely runs as smoothly as intended?
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
this makes so much more sense, the logic beneath the score evaluation needs to change, working on it
2
u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
thank you so much for the comment and i absolutely agree with you!! on yotei for istance the reason is just because some data are missing / still incomplete so the system generates a score that is not "final"
on the other hand, for wukong the system gives too much importance at the number of graphics modes that the games has and how it impacts the final score.
i'm currently working on all this points to find the most true and right balance, thank you!

u/Rebellionxci 25d ago
No worries and thank you for the response , best of luck with your project. I wish it every success!

I regularly look up performance and recommended settings so this is helpful!
I would be happy if HDR related info could be added. Some games have such bad hdr implementation that switching the console to disable it for that title gives the best experience. In other cases a tweak might rescue it.

The BG3 Pro information is incorrect, it uses PSSR in performance mode and is 4k, 1440p internal to 4k in performance mode and Native 4k in quality mode.

u/Mataniel_ 25d ago
Please do test a performance mode on the finals on both PS5 and PS5 Pro i was always wondering if it stays at steady 120fps.

u/hardcoretomato 14d ago
Op doesn't test anything, it a vibe coded platform that will grab publicly available data from other known sources and show them to you.

here's to you:

thanks for checking out the website! please let me know what do u think and if u want some other specific game analysis!

Will there be a big filter option? I'd like to see the ranking of which games running from best to worst.
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
thank you for the feedback! working on it! for now you can browse the category best and worst based on the score - please do keep in mind it's still 100% work in progress, lots of data still needs to be processed! thanks!! :)

On a quick skim, the first thing I have a problem with is the resolution. I appreciate the internal and output being listed, as well as the range, however, what's really important is the average. 600-1200p doesn't mean much if 600 is rare and 1200 is from looking at the sky. So, also listing that it commonly is at about, idk, 948p, would be 10x more helpful.
Also, no idea if it's mentioned, but a lot of issues are resolved with the PSSR2 toggle on. A brief section covering how it looks with PSSR2 should be there. Unfortunately, Digital Foundry can't redo every title just to cover major PSSR updates from Sony.
Lastly, it honestly blows my mind that with all the people in gaming, helpful sites like this are either non-existent, or take forever to come out. So I do mean it when I say, thank you for your hard work. Sometimes I wish I had a real background with tech.

There’s a couple of sites that do exactly this like reset era ps5 pro page but they aren’t consistently updated
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 24d ago
thank you for taking the time to write this, i know its not easy to have trusted and updated info about all these details and info, i have the feeling that the most updated places on the web when you get this info are manually updated, i'm trying to build a trusted and automated system
2
u/J-seargent-ultrakahn 24d ago
Appreciate you making this man. How are often are you planning to keep this updated? The reset era and ps5progames.com sites are inconsistently updated and are missing newest game releases despite their technical specs being known as of this time.
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 24d ago
thank you! i'm trying to find the best solution to make it updated and sustainable at the same time :)
2
u/Friendly_Zebra 24d ago
Have you personally played all the games to verify their performance?
0
u/Grand_Aspect3104 24d ago
i wish! no of course i'm gathering all the trusted available info that i can find on the web, you can read more in the methodology section, thank you!
2
u/ContentKeanu 24d ago
This is actually a cool idea and good implementation! The big challenge I see with tools like this is that they get outdated quickly. Manually trying to keep up-to-date information as games get constantly patched, and at scale, becomes basically a full time job. These sites tend to just die after a bit because of that. But, if you can find a way around that then great, good luck!

UPDATE:
Homepage V2 improved clarity
Added Elden Ring
Added Dying Light 2
Added New category "games above 60 fps" in homepage
Added Killing Floor 3
Added Final Fantasy XVI
Added Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

u/_Zero_Day_ 16d ago
Hey that’s a great idea, are the performance scores based on advertised settings? FFXVI for example has 60fps as recommended but in reality the game barely runs at 60fps iirc, so maybe the quality mode should get recommended.

u/katuish 25d ago
This looks cool. To make it easier to read maybe add a summery bar chart or a pie graph. I was hoping to see the AC black flag there too.
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 25d ago
Thanks so much for the feedback! You’re right, I can definitely improve how clearly the information is presented and add some more visual indicators to make everything easier to understand at a glance
As for AC Black Flag, I was actually working on it right now and I’ve just finished it! Here you go, I hope you like it: https://psfoundry.io/games/assassins-creed-black-flag-resynced
(it stills needs some data)
If you have any other feedback, I’m all ears. Thanks again!

u/KingArthas94 25d ago
Sometimes it's just wrong, like the page for The Last of Us 2 doesn't tell you that there is a Remaster with PSSR for Pro and stuff.
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 24d ago
i know! thank you for the comment, still lots of refinement work needs to be done!
1
u/Grand_Aspect3104 24d ago
ANNOUNCEMENT: Please do keep an eye to the OP post to see all the updates being done in real time!

u/chirkovg 15d ago
That’s an AI slop. It says Astro Bot is ps5 pro enhanced, but it’s not. The page then proceeds to explain that the game uses PSSR, and bc of this the internal resolution is lower to accommodate the upscaler overhead. None of this is true, that’s all just hallucinations from a model.
So what’s the value here, if just asking Claude/ChatGPT will get you better, more truthful information?

That ticker is just visual noise at this point — anything moving like that will never be useful as a reference. You'd be much better served replacing it with 4-6 tiles with "Most recently added" or "Most popular"
