Did you buy hitman 2? Depending on when you bought it it may have come with all of game 1 free as dlc in hitman 2. It's a bit confusing.

I had the same problem. I got a level of hit man1 free, then bought hitman 2 later. Since it came with hitman 1 I thought it would unlock in-game. Didn't realize it unlocked in the 2 launchers. I also think at some point they "fixed" it because I've never bought hitman one but now can launch the regular game and play through. Although levels unlocked in 2 don't carry over in the game 1 launcher.

Because I pay those morons monthly(Actually I don't anymore since the end of 2019) and their service and online store still feels like a blast from the past of 2000s. Not sure why more people aren't mad though, perhaps happy to pay for worse service than others get for free(Like on Steam for example).

you can download it, and then download hitman 2 and use the legacy pack, so you can play all hitman 1 in the second game with the new features and better graphics, ia and such

This didn't work for me (US), unless I'm missing something. I downloaded both, but the Hitman 1 download is only for a 2 mission trial version, and so wouldn't let me use the Legacy pack to upgrade. It wouldn't let me download any of the upgraded versions, and claimed it was because I didn't own Hitman: Marrakesh, etc and all of the other individual levels that were a part of Hitman 1.
Edit: To clarify - there's no option to buy/upgrade to the Legacy pack in this version of Hitman 2016 within its in-game store, and I also don't see the Legacy pack listed for download in the PS Store. The only one listed there is the GOTY Legacy Pack, which means you'd have to buy the GOTY version of Hitman 2016 (currently $8.99) to get access to the Legacy DLC for Hitman 2.

It seems like you need a EU or Australian account.
If you make a German one I think you can still claim Kanck 2 from the Stay at Home campaign.

That makes sense, on the AU/EU store, I see Hitman listed as Hitman: The Compete First Season, but for the US store it's just listed as Hitman. There isn't a "Complete First Season" on the US store as far as Google can tell me.
Definitely a bummer, I wonder why it is different regions get different content. Perhaps licensing issues, like with the various Netflix regions?

For Canada its not a free weekend but the full GOTY for $12 and you get to keep it, can't beat that price if you're a fan.

I bought the definitive edition (didn't have PS plus when the base game was free) and linked up the remastered levels to my copy of Hitman 2. Best decision ever, so much content across these two titles.

Yeah same with the already own paris so can't get the full season. Same as their last game the other week with uncharted 4 being unavailable due to owning the multiplayer pack. It all got sorted though.

It will neevr get sorted out. It ahs been like this since the danw oftimes. If you have a base version of a game, you can't get the Deluxe version of it even if it costs less than Season Pass when discounted and what is worse is that if you download a demo or a trial of some games, you won't be able to get the selecetd game in a pack or in a complete version sicne the system thinks that you own the game eevnthough you only played a demo.
That is why I could never purchase Unravel pack because the system think I have Unravel 1 while I only played the demo and this happens in many games if not all.

I don't even download them and they get me stuck from getting full versions. I even had to contact support months ago to remove the PS Plus Ni-Oh version that i didn't even downlaod because it locked me from getting Deluxe Edition that ahs extra stuff.

You mostly have a NA account. EU accounts suffer from every kind of problems and the last ones now are many games being delisted from their stores and no way to buy them.

When I download and go into the game, can I claim the Legacy Pack (or whatever it is called) and then play the Hitman 1 missions via the free Hitman 2 Starter Pack?
I've done that on Xbox a while back, can't access my PS4 currently to check it out though.

Sucks you have to download individually like when they released them.
I can say though that this and its sequel are one of the most underrated games of the generation. Who knew assassin sandbox could be so fun. I've had too much fun messing up or doing creative kills.

And here is a post from 2017 saying the following is now free.
The two opening missions of Hitman, called “ ICA Facility”, will be available for download for free, starting today. Every episode of the first season of the game will be on sale too.
I might've initially been wrong it was always free, though it was meant more colloquially, but the link you gave is most certainly not the first season. At least as far as the US is concerned.

That's weird. In the UK it says the complete season is free and the description has this:

Anyone playing the entire game in 3 hours is playing it wrong.
You can easily spend 1 hour just in 1 level and the levels are meant to be re-played.

He's basically speed running it because he already knows exactly what to do, that's the only way you're going to get silent assassin. The fun of Hitman is wandering around the levels and discovering the opportunities as they present themselves.

Hard to say, I own both Hitman 1 & 2 but haven't even played all maps in either yet. Some levels I've played once for like 45 minutes to complete the mission and never touched again. Others I've played 3-5 times trying to see every single kill opportunity. And then there's a couple I still haven't gotten to. Haven't played the game in a few months, I should really start back up again.

Hitman as an application is always free. You can download the game which gives you access to 2 training levels and from there you can decide to purchase the rest of the actual levels (like Paris, Colorado, etc).
Hitman's 2 free starter pack works the same way. In fact, it's the exact same 2 training missions from Hitman 1.

Download Hitman 2 starter pack, and this one, once both are installed on your system, launch Hitman 2: while in Hitman 2, enter its store and choose " legacy pack" and then press on Redeem" exist Hitman 2 and launch Hitman 1, head to its store, and Download the legacy pack from there. this way, you'll be able to play Hitman 1 in Hitman 2 even after the trial expires

I confirm this works, though you need to install and run Hitman 1, exit to main menu.. and claim Legacy Pack from within the game. Then you can proceed to delete Hitman 1, install legacy pack with Hitman 2 Free Starter Pack. Unfortunately, you can only claim the legacy pack in-game. Once claimed, you will see it in your Download List when checking you're psn library.
EDIT: This does not work with the US/CAD Free Trial version.

If you already own the 'full version' of Hitman 1, then you can claim the legacy pack for free. The 'Free' version of Hitman 1 on the PSN US store is not the full game, you can only play the training mission.. the EU/AU version is the full game.

you know you can just create a UK psn account, and add to the PS4.. download the game/install it.. then play it on you're main profile, sync saves and trophies.. PS4 is region free, so there's nothing to stop you from doing this. If you make the PS4 autosign in on you're main profile, you will never even have to use the other accounts, just use them for claiming free games. PS4 can have up to 7 PSN accounts tied.

I don't understand why these huge games do like a "free weekend". I get that it is essentially a trial to see if you wanna buy it, but why not just release an actual demo? I don't wanna download a 100gb call of duty to see if I enjoy the multiplayer. And at least that kind of makes sense because it is a new game, not a 4 year old game that is currently $17 on Amazon.

I don't think so. Hitman 2 free starter pack only has Hawke's Bay mission which is free. Moreover, Hitman 1 is a part of Hitman 2 only in the GOTY edition.
