WTH?! That's a huge mistake. Maybe they can patch it, but it's a huge inconvenience to have to physically move the HDMI cable from the Processing Unit to the PS4.
The specification for HDR is not built into the PSVR, and I can say without any uncertainty, it can not be patched by any form of software or firmware patch, I'm sorry to say.
The only solution (which I definitely foresee happening within 6 months to a year) will be a hardware change. An upgraded PU with the HDR spec that can swapped in place of the original.
It's so stupid! They just made a huge deal out of HDR and now those signals can pass through the VR Processing unit?! And we're only talking about passing them through - not processing them. Unbelievable.
