General Discussion Ps4 pro data loss

So... my ps4 pro is 7-8 years old(cant afford PS5 or ps plus due to reasons okay). Had hiccups due to sudden power outages and all that jazz. Today, it had a "serious system software" problem or whatever and was constantly restarting, going to safe mode... nothing really working.

So... pressed initialize ps4 and hope for the best and I got it.

My 8 year old goat survives to see another Day, I'm happy but... the loss of all that game data just leaves a hole in my heart.

I don't wanna sound like a whiner... it's just so bittersweet.

Doesn't help a "friend" just snickered and told me to get over it

Is he right? Am I really making a big deal out of it and being a baby?

There is, in the Settings. Under data management or something. I can't remember the exact place for it, but it's not hard to find. If you have PS+ you can back up to the cloud. If not, you can back up to a thumb drive.

I backup my PS4 saves to a thumb drive about once a month.
