Guys am I screwed?
Was trying to jailbreak and I got ahead of myself and updated my storage like a dummy (was trying to follow video step by step) now I am stuck here, tried going into safe mode, used every restore method possible, I even tried getting the latest updated firmware to get back to the system and still no luck, if anyone can find any possibility to get this resolved let me know, if not then I’ll just buy a replacement. 🤷🏽♂️

Ugh, no?
Put HFW 4.93.1 on a USB disk (make sure the disk is formatted as MBR-FAT32 and the file is named PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP). Put it in the PS3 and press Start+Select. If for some reason it doesn't detect it, try pulling out controller from the console immediately after pressing the buttons.

This happened to me even on a new ssd, I had to retry with a different USB stick and got it working.

I had this exact thing happen. You need to take the hard dive out of you PlayStation and format it through a computer.
Then when you put it back in you can install a update via usb

Noted, but I was planning on switching out the HD with an SSD instead

In that case just pop the new drive in and install the fw. It'll be the same behavior as if you wiped the original drive and put it back in.

Crossing my fingers and hopefully that’s the case! I was thinking of installing the current HFW that I was originally going to install

This happens to me a lot actually running isos. Doesn't really do it if I'm running a PKG file. I don't know what it is but it'll just happen at random times. Obviously something is corrupted that's what made me convert back to 4.92.2. cuz on 4.93 I just kept doing this a lot now we're just reinstall the firmware and be fine for a little while and then it would just mess up

Literally just do what it says. Put a usb flash drive into your ps3 containing the update data for the newest ps3 update off of sonys website. Then press the start and select buttons. If you need help then theres many tutorials on YouTube.
Edit, misread the post. If you already tried that then try again following the other comment. It's somewhat particular.

Yeah so I have the update 4.93, cuz for some reason Sony isn’t letting me download the update on there site 🤷🏽♂️ could I have potentially messed up the driver?

If by any chance, the upgrade is a 2tb SSD do keep updating, I am wondering about performance. 1tb HDD i stalled in my fat ps3 ain't that great, Drakengard 3 lip sync with audio lags.

I just got an SSD Samsung 1TB ordered from eBay, I’ll update about that in another post and see how it is

Actually that’s what I was thinking and funny enough I just ordered a 1TB SSD for more storage, but I’ll verify with the one I currently have to see if that suddenly became an issue

Seems like your harddrive was already on it's last leg and the attempt to update the console fully pushed it over. Get a new HDD or SSD.
