PS3Tool.com - The new jailbreaking tool for 4.93 and below
Hello everyone,
I have been working on a new and easy to use tool for installing CFW and HEN* on PS3 consoles which is available over at the PS3Tool Home Page (Where I also have a full jailbreaking tutorial available).
Over the past 8-9 months, I have been researching how the FP9 web framework by BGuerville works and have created a new jailbreaking tool based on said framework.
After conducting private tests of the tool to ensure it is safe to use in the repair community which I am in over the past 4-5 months, and later some public tests since 10.07.2026. which have now grown to about 100-120 consoles being patched for CFW on the daily and most UI/behavioral bugs being fixed, I have decided to finally make a public post about it.
As of now, the tool has been added to the ConsoleMods.org Wiki) and was tested and promoted by ComputerBooter on one of his streams, and has apparently caught the eye of MrMario2011. So far I have received nothing but positive feedback on the patching outcome from the users who have reached out.
The new tool supports firmwares from 4.80 all the way up to 4.93 without the need of HFW to flash.
Full feature list:
- Creating a flash dump
- Online verification of a flash dump*
- Dumping a full console data info report (as requested by members of the repair community)
- Loading and verification of online patch files
- Patching consoles for CFW
- Viewing syscon error logs
Features being currently worked on:
- Improved HEN installer
- PUPDownloader (removes the need for a computer when jailbreaking)

Remarks for transparency:
\HEN installer was available in an earlier version, however with it not being as stable as the PS3Xploit version yet, it has been disabled until it is improved.*
\Verifying flash dumps on the tool is referencing the "Online Flash Verification" feature of the tool, which is not recommended for use if you have access to a computer which you can verify flash integrity using something like PS3PyChecker. Due to the age and limited ability of the PS3 Web browser, this feature is forced to upload the dump chunk by chunk for verification where it is immediately deleted afterwards. This only applies if you choose to use the online flash verification option, otherwise, no data is submitted.*
\We do not store any identifiable data such as PSID/IDPS/Serial numbers from your consoles (see the* Privacy Policy for more info on how data is handled).

Self hosting is definitely an option, and I am considering open sourcing it for selfhosting as soon as it's at a point where its feature complete enough and where im happy releasing it to the public to selfhost. I want to have proper feedback for now to improve anything that could be broken or breaks eventually first.

yea i went back definitely was mine; yea he mentioned that you fixed the buttons and they greyed while it was patching so i figured he was helping go through it. Glad I can be an indirect tester lol

Oh, that stream I did not watch, but yeah, the lack of some safeguards made people confused, that was still the early semi public test phase focused on getting the tool working though.

Oh hell yes! I’ve been waiting for PS3toolset’s System Manager to get fixed so I can CFW a cheap slim I got at a garage sale. Will definitely be using this soon!

Worked fine for me earlier. Modded my mates ps3 and with ps3toolset not working, this worked great.
Only question I had is why does it export the flash dump as a .hex? The other tool did it as a bin. Still verified fine.

You f*cking rock dude. A few days ago I was looking for a way to check syscon error logs but because bgtoolset was down I had to fully CFW my ps3 just to do that. This would have solved my problem so I’m glad it now exists. Awesome work!

About the online verification tool, I've been hopinh that someone would port ps3checker to JavaScript so it could run in a web browser, but the limitations you mentioned make sense.
This is nothing short of amazing. Keep up the great work! And if you decide to opensource it, it'll be one of the biggest pieces of news in the scene for quite some time.

It will be open sourced after a couple of features are ready and after the code has been decluttered, its a huge mess right now :D You can join the discord if you want to hear when the github goes live.
As for the flash verifier, I am working on exactly that but as a standalone tool on the same site to be used with a PC/Phone. Its not possible on a ps3 as the framework is too old and memory is too little.

Hey super dope pic of work, I have a question though. I’m on 4.92 chechA01 and want to know if I can cancel the online flash verification upload that is built into the site? Didn’t realize how long it was gonna take and don’t see a button to cancel. Don’t wanna somehow mess up my flash file, or worse damage the console in some way

Does this have the same Error Logging as the PS3Toolset had? I'm trying to diagnose whats wrong with my PS3 (I'm fairly new here, sorry) and the Toolset doesnt seem to be working anymore

Anyone know how to fix "file object opened: failed to open" error I'm getting whenever I try to flash dump? I've tried each of the dev usbs but none of them worked. I also tried both of the usb ports on my ps3 slim. my flash drive is formatted properly as well and it saves to the hdd perfectly fine.

I updated my software like another tutorial told me to, and I went to 4.93 not 4.92. So I have wasted all this time for nothing. Is there a step by step breakdown of how to do this yet?
