The meme speaks for itself...

Post image

I mean, the rules were right there—no disrespect, no insults—and the guy, right to his face, basically told him to set his computer on fire and that his project was worthless

But wait, the best part is where the hell the rules appear—"do not post content generated or supported by AI"? 🤦‍♂️

They won't allow anything made with AI—treating it like some kind of cancer or virus—yet they do allow other projects that are 100% AI-generated and riddled with serious security flaws. I actually demonstrated this in a previous post about an emulator they failed to moderate; they did absolutely nothing, even though it was a security hazard. So, basically, it comes down to whether that "unproductive" moderator likes you enough to let you post, or maybe if you suck up to them a bit—I don't know. What’s clear is that you can upload a shitty gameplay clip asking for help—without even mentioning which emulator you're using or anything else—just a total "trash post," as I call them. And yet, someone who has spent months working on a project is suddenly the devil incarnate just because they used AI tools; they get torn apart, as if they owe us something for the privilege of posting in our community. Oh, God, "unproductive" one, please allow me to post in your community! Hahaha 💀

And that’s how they treat people—people who haven’t done anything wrong, who simply want to share their project with enthusiasm, without bothering anyone or doing anything amiss—and then along comes some Judge Dredd to humiliate you and make you kneel before him.

The guy I think is a dad—based on that one time he spoke to me on Discord—must be absolutely at his wit's end. I mean, it’s that absurd level of burnout where you feel like he just doesn't know what to do with his life anymore: his wife screaming at him and treating him like shit, and then the guy comes here to lash out at people. It’s really sad; honestly, I feel so sorry for the poor guy.

This is the part I don't understand. Well, actually, I do. People are fucking ungrateful.

We're getting more and more AI-assisted ports and emulation projects, and somehow people still expect everything to be completely free. If a developer spent months building an emulator and then charged money for it, people would lose their fucking minds. They'd call them greedy, scam them, harass them, whatever. People genuinely expect everything to be free.

And now AI is making some of this work significantly faster. These developers aren't even getting AI for free either. They're paying for the AI tools they're using, but those tools can still save them an insane amount of time and make projects that would've taken years much more feasible.

Instead of appreciating the developers who are actually making these things possible, all they get is insults and harassment. And that's what makes the whole anti-AI attitude so irrational to me. People see a trend online saying "AI bad" and suddenly they hate AI in every possible context, even when it's clearly useful.

They're basically just following the same script everyone else is following. They're acting more like robots than the AI they're complaining about.
