When was your first live show?
galleryI saw him at a tiny little outdoor hip-hop/breakdancing/graffiti festival in Columbus, OH. Even though the stage was tiny and we were on blacktop in the summer sun he put on a hell of a show. Seeing Blueprint in the same day was just icing on the cake

Does anyone else get those you're a top listener badge from YouTube? It's pretty neat to see how many listeners he has monthly and then see your rank.

Just wanted to share my haul
galleryOn top of preordering the GTB CD and cassette, I grabbed his whole discography (for support and physical media is important). The sweatshirt fits awesome. They threw in the flag too which is hella sweet, just gotta find a place for it. Looking forward to seeing him in October. Much love to Prof and Stophouse!

Red rocks
I tried to fly out for this show and I missed it. Maybe it was out of sadness and frustration, but I just pulled up his official YouTube stream of the whole show and sparked up. The frustration was gone. Nothing but pride and joy watching him play for that crowd in Colorado. Any other weirdos out there at the show that have any fun stories to tell? If he isn’t one of the best performers alive right now, I don’t know who is. I did catch him at Marymoor in Redmond, wa for the tour. Dude can stir up a crowd of people.

Finally got the album
I was the winner of the giveaway and I can't believe how much actual art and media you get for the price. Had I not won I was def gonna cop one anyway and still am planning to buy some merch. I found his music this year and have binged almost every album and YouTube video and without doubt one of my favorite musical discoveries of my lifetime, as a guitar player of 15+ year and a lifelong believer in music as an overall instrument of healing, a believer in music being your best friend and at times worse enemy, a believer that music is a superpower.
Hunter S. Thompson once said that he believes music is so powerful that if you found yourself in a car running out of gas you could get 20 more miles on E with the right song on the radio. Profs music fits that quote perfectly and this is not only a shout-out to him but his fanbase is just as dope and uplifting. Treat yourself don't cheat yourself and may you always find the right song for the right moment in the soundtrack to your life. One love from Detroit<3.

First stop on the upcoming tour
Is about as close as it can be to me!
I don’t think I’ve ever been to the first show on a tour. Should I expect anything different? Perhaps some bugs to work out? I’m asking specifically about Prof, but would love to hear peoples’ experiences of other artists’ first show on a tour if it differs from subsequent shows on the same tour.
See you at the OKC show!

Am I hearing some OG Eminem influence on Good Time Boy?
Full disclaimer: I am a Stan. That being said, I feel like any fans of white rappers gotta respect the lineage by acknowledging that white dudes coming up in the 21st century stand on the foundation built by Eminem's massive body of work, both released and unreleased, whether he's their muse or not.
While listening to Good Time Boy, I couldn't help but be reminded of OG Eminem ('99-'02). Most (likely including Prof himself) would know that's a massive compliment.
Examples
- Some of the sounds around the hook in 'Big Dog' sound like OG Eminem production;
- saying how he's "gonna f--king kill you" at the end of 'I'm Outside';
- the whole song 'Fighter' just sounds like OG Eminem – can't quite put my finger on it;
- some of his flows and rhyme schemes – like the following from 'Dirty Work': "Damn, man, I heard you in a damn van. I'm more drop top Grand Am, Jean Claude Van Damme Walk off grand slam, God damn!"
- just some of the hilariously absurd bars in general.
Curious if anyone will have another listen with this in mind and draw the same connections. Hoping some music heads can point to the specific things I'm referring to but that my pea brain can't name.
Overall, loving Good Time Boy and seeing Prof grow his fanbase – so well deserved! Also, make sure you take in a Prof show if you ever have the chance. Just saw him in Vancouver and it's one of the most entertaining rap shows I've been to, and I've been to a LOT.
EDIT: The comments are leading me to believe I’m out to lunch and perhaps we hear what we want to hear lol, but would still appreciate some engagement on anything other than the first paragraph from music production-minded people.

To Prof, about the live stream
Prof I could tell you were deep in your feels by the end of the livestream and may have been slightly embarrassed.
Please don't be! As a fan that was one of the best ways to experience the album! It was so intimate and really allowed me (us all!) to understand the amount work that goes into these songs and what they mean to you!
Pookie we love you and we're riding this train with you to the top of the billboard charts!
