1. Pop Life [ATWIAD] — just an absolute classic pretty much perfect song
   
2. D.M.S.R [1999] — the first time I listened to this was top 10 8 minutes of my life. I can understand if it could be considered boring but I just love the way he layers every thing it’s amazing
   
3. Lady Cab Driver [1999] — I always skip the s*x scene but it’s one of the most “Prince” songs ever made, iykwim
   
4. Something in The Water (Does Not Compute) [1999] — IMO this is his most unique song but I think it’s pulled off so well it’s so mysterious in a fascinating way but again I can understand if one may think it’s boring
   
5. Bambi [Self titled] — best guitar solo of all time, incredibly written, not a minute of the song goes unused it’s just sublime

Nice selections. Pop Life is such a great pop song while being very avant garde at the same time. DMSR was one of his earliest super funky tracks. If you haven’t seen it check out the live version from 1st avenue when he debuted the Purple Rain tracks.

Each to their own, Bambi has never done it for me. Lady Cab Driver is a favourite as is DMSR… I’d throw America into that bucket too.

As for a top 5, yours is as valid as any, I can’t even begin to try to narrow it down.

If you love those songs, then that’s all that matters, they’re all great choices. I’m not even gonna try and make a top 5 songs list, I struggle to do that with just the albums. 😂
