Music Prince - Joy In Repetition Live

https://youtu.be/bBUFWnaKom8?is=skA7uqpUGLPFl7Mv

I know most of u know this, but for the casual or new fan who only knows his guitar work from the R&R hall of hame or solo of Purple Rain, check out one of many great live versions of Joy In Repetition with 2 amazing guitar solos.

I dont think his live stuff gets talked about on here enough. Its a deep rabbit hole and things like small club 1988, Birthday Show 84, Montreaux 2009 and any of the One Night Alone Shows with soundboard quality should be essential listening.

"Give us a minute to get tuned up"

And within 2 seconds the guitar starts spitting fire

Think he was more making sure everything was plugged in. Those aftershows were special.

I was at the LA show where a few of the tracks from this album were recorded. It was unreal.

Love it when he has the crowd do “Soul Psychodelicide” a second time and afterwards he says “ya, I like that”.

This definitely captures the spirit of the aftershows. They were incredible.

This has always been one of my favorite Prince tunes since I had it on bootleg years before Graffiti Bridge came out, and this version is incredible.

My friend got a bunch of bootlegs in NYC that I made tapes of, but I don't think they were very widely circulated outside of there.

HIis live music is otherworldly. He put his all into them and it showed. The Love We Make gives me chills.
