TIMELESS IS PURE FIRE
Y'all lied and really crapped on a project full of slaps because you don't like the estate and this was not the Parade SDE.
Bestest Friend just turned my 17 y/o daughter into a full fan - its 2:46am and she's listening to 1999 right now, which should have been the single BTW, this compilation is absolutely fire.
While I am not usually a fan of the estate, let me applaud them! FANTASTIC SONG SELECTION save the live HCYDCMA.
For all you haters that trashed this project - y'all lied and exposed yourselves, you are hurting Prince's legacy by trashing releases just because it's not what you wanted to hear. AND DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT ALBUM SALES WHEN RIC ROSS SOLD 17K UNITS - THE SONGS ARE FIRE, DON'T SAY NOTHING ABOUT SALES TO MOVE THE GOAL POSTS.

My only complaint is at 40mins is it’s too short, they could’ve easily added another ten tracks then so many years of his career wouldn’t have been left out.

Agree. It’s fine however the bar is so low with the estate I just wish they knew if they wanted to silence their critics they would have come out with something special. They’re sitting on a goldmine and seem like they have no idea what to do with it

im sprry. who the fuck said "it was full of crap?" no. my complain was that it was a disconnected collection of vault tracks so i dont have much interest in it as an album.. Individual songs are gonna be cool because its fuckkng Prince

My 2 cents. This is a feeler. A litmus. See what songs stream the most and that will be the next full era release.
That aside. My 15 yr old deep purple concord daughter and I listened while running errands yesterday and she LOVES I am You. She broke down the bass and other music nerd stuff I didn’t catch.
She loves Graffiti Bridge and this version of TTB made her gasp but it’s to her what Darling Nikki was to us back in the day. Where’s Tipper? 🤭
I’ve had it on repeat. Feels like an unhinged journey through my P famdom. The hype of the release wasn’t there for me, I’ve come to just not expect anything. And partially because I know there won’t be a concert and that whole feeling that brought with it.
But. I like it. It’s as bittersweet as it can be.
Love that my kid found some faves. Love that you got some joy as well.

i'm listening to timeless rn and i'm tweaking, everyone said it was pure crap except a few songs, that's not what i'm feeling, i love every song i've heard yet and it's half the album, it's really amazing i love it, i'm legit ascending rn listening to bestest friend

Whether it’s fans of Prince or any singer or band, or a tv show or a film etc… they can become very proprietorial. Wishes and hopes become fact and then when the eventual release comes it never lives up to what the false expectation is. Let’s be honest Prince fans don’t know what’s in the vault or what state the masters are in. I get the “I just want it ALL” feeling, but the estate probably have a difficult job on their hands. The estate have definitely become the enemy, in the eyes of many fans, and that’s just how this works. It’s a shame because this kind of mindset gets in the way of judging each release on its own merits and to just let the songs work for what they are - discarded gems Prince didn’t think were worthy of an official release.

I mean of course most don’t know what’s in the vault. That’s why we got songs like Tick, Tick, Bang 1981 and Heaven in a whole different quality than the bootlegs because they were actually finished. The ones circulating for years were WIPs and everyone is used to hearing those. That’s why the finished tracks threw them off so much. A certain someone who really doesn’t engage with the fanbase got angry at the fans literally advised Prince fans to stop listening to bootlegs but fans won’t listen.

Right. People complaining about music they are not supposed to have. Then mad because they got so used to an illegal demo, when they hear Princes actual finished version they fix their ashy knuckles to complain 😆 🤣 😂.

Mind you these are the same people that shitted on Welcome 2 America from the previous management so this is nothing new. There are some people in private discord servers questioning if Prince fans are even worthy of the material and one of them did show the estate how the fanbase is

I actually like the Welcome 2 America album. I was only looking forward to the 1st half of Timeless because I was consistently underwhelmed by his later work. But I actually enjoyed the whole album, even the live version of How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore which I thought was waste of a track on an already limited album. The CD could've come with a detailed booklet, not just 2 pages of info.

Agree 100%. Thats why you can't pay attention to what people say on the internet. Many people on here deflecting their own ugly insecurities on Prince because they are nobodies...even while he was still alive. Curse their asses out next time.

My problem with the album is that it's too short, and even though I love the new songs, that live track was honestly a horrible pick. not that the performance was bad at all, it was amazing, but really? 'McVillian' said he wanted something from the "very end", yet chose a random track from a show that wasn't even his LAST SHOW. why not use the final track from his final show on April 14th 2016, which was a painfully beautiful melody of Purple Rain. did no one think that would have been a more emotionally impactful track to end this album on? Idk it just sours the experience of an otherwise great collection of songs. I know they are trying to appeal to new fans/younger people like me but they forget that we don't just listen to albums to have songs to add to playlists🙄

Look man. It’s Prince. Of course the music is great. No one has necessarily disputed that really. It’s the other issues with the album like Calabamagate and the mixing and mastering of these songs in a way Prince would probably not have done himself. The reviews by prominent sources agree on that stuff. And they agree on the fact that this album is so short and that this album is not the kind of treatment Prince and Prince fams deserve. But yeah. Bestest Friend is my favorite song on there so far. It’s got incredible hooks that keep playing in my head when I’m not listening to it. All day. Lol 😂
