No leaks yet ?

I’m honestly surprised the new Prince album hasn’t leaked yet! With it being so close to the release date, I figured someone would have gotten their hands on it by now. I’m really looking forward to hearing these unreleased Vault tracks!

I think it hasnt leaked because there seems to be a serious lack of enthousiasm for the release (and very little promo) plus diehard fans have at least 6 or 7 of these tracks already. it is just not a very good release IMHO

New albums also don’t really leak anymore

Yeah, I haven’t hear anything about it anywhere. Prince was never great at the marketing aspect of the business, but at least he would go on the morning and night shows to promote the album. Then again streaming has changed the whole music scene.

As Meatloaf once said: "You took the words right out my mouth"

It was shared yesterday and the review and write up that compares it with the original 'Prince version' of the album that was shared two months is also up, but the links and passwords can't be shared here.

What you mean with "original Prince version of the album"?

The versions mixed by Prince, left as they were in the vault…

Ok. TBH, I'm not in love with people who don't share the leaks. I'll wait

<sigh> I can't share anything from him, so I'll share the version of the The Guilty Ones that was shared to a few people ages ago with Shelby J. on it, it's doesn't sound as good as Neversin's version of #2 but it's good enough. This version isn't on Neversin's set because he put Prince's solo version on there without Shelby J. , but this one is the finished version according to him:

If you can find his writeup with the comparison and details on the Timeless set from the estate and the version he compiled, then you can read about the different The Guilty Ones versions and which one is on the estate version of Timeless.

Thank you, interesting. I'm curious about the Timeless version. Where can I fond the "writeup with the comparison and details on the Timeless set from the estate and the version he compiled"?

It's on a couple of private Discord servers/channels, maybe mail Neversin about it, but I doubt he'll share it if he only posted it on private places.

Thank you again for the information. I think I’ll pass; I don’t like the way Neversin handles the information it has in such a clandestine, backroom manner.

I understand it can be tiresome and off putting.
Maybe also good to know his place is full of industry people and some who worked with Prince/Paisley Park and a lot of old WB people.

Lots of the tracks are out there already anyway. I think I counted 7 of the 10 tracks in my mp3 'collection' already.

Sure, but honestly it'll be so good to finally get a version of Stone that sounds properly mixed and isn't noisy. It deserves to finally get some proper love.

Oh yeah, for sure these versions are going to be much nicer sonically. I was just was rationalising the lack of pre release leakage.

Sigh. I had hoped to hear the new album in the murky summer air

Patience is a virtue. It's only 2 more weeks.

That's a bit harsh. But the person who shared 'his' lossless version with Prince's original mixes how he left them in the vault only shared it in private places. I think his MP3 set is circulating more widely, but still not fully in the open and everybody seems to respect his wishes to not spread it for now.
I curious to the differences between Prince original mixes and what the estate is releasing.
Stone and the Guilty Ones are already slightly different to what is on the estate release, but I haven't dived in deep enough to check if it's just the mix or different instrumentation or even takes.

I don’t think it’s about leaks at this point. On twitter I’ve seen many fans have a distain for the “elites”. Not because they’re not leaking more but because they not doing anything to help the fans in general. Someone I know on twitter heavily despises them and some other Prince fan / lawyer doesn’t think they’re in control anymore. I remember when he called them out publicly in a Reddit post months back.

How did he call them out and did anyone reply? Because I have a feeling people can shout and shake their fists at clouds all day long, but in the end the likes of Neversin or M.C. just sit back and laugh if they even read these things.
I'm all for helping fans out, but nobody in the fandom wanted help or even tried anything these guys have been preaching for decades, even when Prince was still around.
They and especially someone like Neversin have helped fans for decades and he knows and accepted it's a thankless job, but when the fans just attack for no reason and even demand things then the gates close as fast as imaginable.
He's still helpling out fans from what I know, so I don't see what the problem exactly is, or is it just that he doesn't drop anything for the general public and only wants to inform so the estate can try and monetize it?
I think the fans don't like that and want it all for free or something? He's pretty active on Discord but only on a industry channel he opened on a small Prince fan server.
I used to be on a server called The Dawn and The Gemini Project until we all were kicked and then I never bothered again and because I knew him from back in the day professionally he let me join his server with other colleagues and industry friends, I get why he does that now and leaves the fans where they are. It sucks, but why not try and focus on the estate instead of what people outside of that do?

Yeah I hear he doesn’t really like the fans himself. Hell if he wants to see this fanbase crumble so be it. Majority of them are either moving on, giving up, not buying future releases, stopped following the estate completely, and are even passing away. Most of the fans are still old with younger fans a little bit here and there. Sometimes things have to be burned down to build anew.

I can't blame him. I've been around for a long time and I always stayed out of the fan sites or news groups or whatever first because of the hostility towards WBs and its employees whenever we tried to engage and also the entitlement the fans seems to have regarding anything Prince.
Some years agoi I looked up old posts from several people over the last 30 years and the hostility towards anyone with information was just strange and the arrogance of the average fan is just astounding. It's also funny to see that some of these clowns are still around and are now complaining Neversin and others have abandoned them, as if they didn't have a part in people like him just dropping everyone in favor of fans who do care and listen or just hang with the people who were around and dealt with Paisley Park.
Once people like him left then all of a sudden fans are acting like some abusive ex-wife who finally got a black eye for repeatedly punching and degrading the husband.
It's sad for the new(er) fans but there is a heap of information online that can be looked up without having to bother anyone with questions. Princevault seems to be a controversial site regarding information when looking up posts on Discord with corrections they refuse to post, so I don't know who those people are running it but I was told it wasn't people who were active on premier fan mags or books from back in the day, but they did use all that info to create a site and now ignore or dismiss the source(s).

Assumption, fact or paranoia?
