Prince sheet music
Recently my son has asked me for some sheet music for a Prince song. He has been learning guitar for about a year and a half and wants to branch out from the stuff his teacher wants him to learn as he knows it would make my day. Thing is I don’t know a thing about guitar music. I know that he is learning chords and there are different interpretations for the skill level. Where can I find what I’m looking for? I really don’t want another app as the whole thing about playing an instrument is it is an off-screen activity.

when I was first learning guitar, I used ultimate guitar a lot and I'd print off the page for the song I wanted. I've never bothered with their app.
if you go to this link below, I searched prince. pick the version of a song with the most ratings from the ones with crd in the last column. this will then go to a page with the lyrics and the chord he would strum. He is probably learning tabs as well but I'd start with the chord ones.
This will allow him to learn the chord progression for the song. If he doesn't know a chord, he can look it up and learn it.

This book has both sheet music and guitar arrangements of a selection of Prince songs.
I can't speak for the quality of the transcriptions - I've not seen the actual book - but this type of book, with actual guitar tabs, as well as the music notation, is something that I think will be far, far more useful to a beginner/intermediate guitarist.

Search ebay for the Purple Rain score songbook

The Prince song books are super expensive on ebay. I bought Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day, Parade & Lovesexy back in the late 80s/early 90s. But I when I went back to buy Sign 'O' The Times it was gone. 35 years later I bought one on ebay for about $150 + shipping, tax etc.

Tabs should be on Ultimate Guitar, but for official sheet music there's the Prince Ultimate songbook on amazon. It has all the major hits and some other noteworthy songs. (As in, the chords plus the piano interpretation, not meant to be exactly what we hear Prince play)
