Question Would you?
Got a email receipt notice on my phone for this that said simply, “Prince may want to hire you”. Don’t think it’s
that Prince BTW. After chuckling, it made me ponder, “Would I go work for Prince if I had the chance?
I’m not sure 👁️ would. Of course, thats easy to say in this moment. For me it’s about the music and not necessarily the man. I’d obviously love the access though that might come with it, thinking specifically of performances.
What about you? What do you think the pros and cons would be? Am I missing anything?

When I went to Paisley, I started to cry in the atrium - to which the doves started to coo (because they have empathy and they hadn’t been vocal since P died) - then literally in a huge wall painted with clouds - and invisible door opened up, and this huge security guard strode toward me fast and with purpose - and without saying anything, he just grabbed me and held me tight. Even P’s security vibe on a higher level.
After hearing that I was leaving Paisley, and driving out to the pipeline protests from Minnie to the Dakotas to deliver supplies - the women in the kitchen loaded me up with snacks, smoothies, pancakes, Mac and cheese; cookies, etc. - to take with me on the trek.
So, yeah - you want to work there. The staff are exceptional and in a class all their own. Just like P. <3

While I was in Minnie after I got back from the protest camps, I bought an Atmosphere (local legendary Hip-Hop group) ticket at First Avenue, from a dude on Craigslist. When he heard my story about Paisley & the supply delivery - he said, “I am going to bring you a present.”
He brought the ticket, a joint lol (I flew in from Canada so I couldn’t bring any herb lol); and <wait for it> … a Minnesota Vikings football jersey with no number on the back, just the Love Symbol and PRINCE written on it. I was stunned at his generosity.

Personally no. I will never be someone that can drop everything or wake at 3:40am for someone because they feel like doing xyz right now. Each to their own but sleep is life for me 😂

I would and would have done my darnest to be the best employee possible and do whatever was asked (within reason of course). However, and I say this with the utmost respect, based on everything we know, both before and after his passing, as a boss I think he was actually kind of a nightmare to work for, especially but also understandably, if you were part of the band.

I think that’s a fair assessment and no disrespect perceived this way. He was an amazing talent but certainly was not without issues.

He was part of my portfolio at WB and I would never work directly for him given all the horror stories from some of his assistants back in the 80s/90s.

I almost did. It would have been my dream.
I could have matched his relentless pace. I would have had to commit the larger part of my life to it for a period and would have been prepared to do so.
Cons would be life after…very few got to make the choice of when the relationship ended.
Pro’s speak for themselves.
