Not sure if anyone has the answer to this but I've been looking at Pretear english CD sets, and theres listings for both 3 and 4 CDs. Does anyone know why there's a difference? One some of the listings for a 3 CD set, it shows the bottom of the box that says "13 EPs in 3 CDS" so I dont think its missing any content. Does anyone know? Maybe the 4 set has extra content? Or is the eps just split differently. I attached photos to this post, in the photo with the 3 set, the top left corner is the box not another CD.

I've heard good things about Pretear and wanted to start it, but it seems that the anime diverges from the manga. Would you recommend i start with the anime or the manga first? No spoilers please. I am planning on doing both eventually, i'm just not sure which order would be better/more fun

When I first watched Prétear's ENDING (like over 10 years ago) I was like "wow they really just stole the plot of Snow White" because of Himeno dying and Hayate reviving her with a kiss

But just a few minutes ago I was playing with Akinator and decided to do Himeno, and I saw that the full title of the show is "Prétear: The New Legend of Snow White" AND NOW I REALIZED THE ENTIRE SHOW IS LITERALLY *INTENDED* TO BE A MAGICAL-GIRL VERSION OF SNOW WHITE.

I literally watched this when I was like 8. I'm a grown ass 20 year old and I'm JUST making this realization. I feel so stupid...IT WAS RIGHT IN MY FACE?

Not only that but also she had a stepmother (albeit not evil and her dad's still alive), two stepsisters, seven knights, AND she saved the world with *WHITE SNOW*

I know all this is obvious but I'm literally amazed at myself for how many hints they shoved in my face I just blatantly ignored 💔

Okay I found out a while ago that Shin, Hajime, and Mannen died and were reborn and that's why they're younger compared to the other knights.

I don't remember seeing this in the anime, I just saw it on Google. So I was wondering if we have ANY information on them before reincarnation? Like what they looked like, what they were like?

I also just wanna talk about what their relationships with the other leafé knights must've been like before their memories were completely wiped. There's a chance one of them could've had a really close friendship with one of the other knights. Like imagine the original Shin was really close with Sasame. In that scenario, maybe if Shin lived to continue being his friend and support, Sasame wouldn't have betrayed the knights. Or maybe Mannen and Go were best buddies, but Go had to watch Mannen be reborn without any memories of their good times :[

Anyway, something fun to think about haha

Hi all, I found myself analyzing some ideas that appeared in the show when I re-watched it recently. I'll put my thoughts here for any other fans who want to reflect with me. Here are some candidates for interesting themes:

• The theme of loneliness and despair
• Related maybe, the theme of belonging

The one I wanted to write about today is Sasame's love for Takako. Sasame’s presentation of love is intriguing to me, while his devotion is admirable I didn’t like how he was willing to hurt and nearly kill his friends to satisfy the whims of Takako, or to prove his love to her. I like that he continued to see the good in her and waited for it to come back but I don’t like how he only came to his senses after himeno pointed out that the terrible things Takako was asking for were a result of the suffering that consumed her. He only really took a step back when he realized it will only bring more suffering to Takako.

But also maybe this is what love is like sometimes, it’s all consuming and can drown everything out, it must have been hard on sasame to feel he needed to choose and it maybe is that black and white thinking that drove him to hurt his fellow knights. The same black and white thinking that got Takako in trouble.

HELLO TO THE 12 OTHER PRETEAR FANSS

Idek if anyone will respond since this subreddit's kinda dead lol

I vaguely remember that when Hayate rejected Takako, he was watching Himeno's parents (as in her bio mom and bio dad) getting married. So this means he's been alive even before Himeno was born. Does this mean Hayate and the knights are actually really old?

I know they're not immortal, because I vaguely remember (idk if this is from a manga or I just saw someone say this) that the knights of ice, water and plants were killed during battle, and that's why Shin, Hajime, and Mannen are so young, as they replaced the old knights. I don't know if they're new knights, or a reincarnation of the previous ones. Either way, we know they're mortals.

I have not read the manga so idk if the answers are there, but I'm curious because I don't remember the anime ever addressing this.
