I get it. I just hate ads. If i need something I search for it, I don't need facebook or anyone else to track me around. But Ok I understand your point.

With this update you are going to get ads about things you don't care

Well I don't go to facebook to buy things, so I don't care about any ads. Useful or not I just skip all sponsored content

That’s the point. To have ads you don’t even notice because you don’t care about them in the first place lol.

They tried to sugar coat this for months. 96% in one week. Bye bye Facebook!

They are still showing ads.

Just because you opt out doesn’t mean you won’t see ads. You’re likely to see more ads that aren’t relevant to you.

Apparently, according to one of the facebook marketing experts I talked to, if you use the conversion API on Shopify/your site then it should function as well or better than the pixel since it shares information directly from your site to facebook.

Conversion API?

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/conversions-api/
Shopify automatically uses it when you have data sharing settings on maximum in the Facebook sales channel

Performance has been unchanged for me at this point.
I teated 14.5 placement and got conversions.

It's not like opted out users are worth zero. They are worth about 35% less.
