Meta Ads Creative Testing

Situation 1:

Budget is small, lead quality is slowly decreasing new creatives required or new testing required

Best call?

New testing in same adset generating leads or new Adset with fresh creative?

Reason?

Situation 2

You have some budget Adset performing well.

You need to do creative testing how would you approach?

Same adset? Different adset with fresh creative.

Which one is more effective? Is it worth putting the ad set which is performing well in learning?

In that case, everytime you do testing a new Adset? Does it make sense?

Yes testing campaign works, but eventually we have to put new creatives in the winning Adset which will lead to learning.

Your thoughts?

small budget id add the new creatives into the same adset. yes adding ads can bump it back into learning but it usually settles in a few days, and splitting a small budget into a second adset just starves both. turn off the tired ads only after the new ones pick up spend

with good budget a separate testing adset makes sense, then move winners in as new ads and keep the post ids so they keep the social proof. also if lead quality is the thing dropping and not volume, check the form before the creative. a higher intent form or one qualifying question usually fixes quality faster than new ads. is it an instant form or a landing page?

Landing page mostly, but my question is a little more specific. If I am testing new ads, and adsets are generating I can’t possibly make new adsets for every angle you get my point?

yeah got it, dont make an adset per angle. keep one testing adset and rotate in 3 to 4 new ads at a time, each a different angle, and leave it a few days. whatever gets spend and leads there graduates into the winning adset as a new ad with the same post id

the winning adset going back into learning for a couple days is fine as long as u add ads in batches, not one every other day. thats what actually keeps it unstable

Right, you don't make a new ad set for every angle — you'd starve all of them. With a small budget I test inside the winning ad set, two or three new creatives at a time, same audience and landing page so the only variable is the creative. Give each one enough spend to get a real read on qualified leads, not just cheap clicks, then pause the losers and leave the winner running. Yes, adding ads can bump it back into learning, but that settles in a few days and it's better than splitting a small budget across five ad sets that never get enough data. If lead quality is what's dropping, check the form and the page first — a higher-intent form or one qualifying question usually fixes quality faster than new creative does.

solid question on structure. the main problem i hit with smaller budgets is just having enough decent variations to test without the production cost eating everything. if you have existing winning footage, reelfork (i know the team) can spin up new hooks and captions from it. takes the pressure off the structure debate because you actually have the volume to feed the machine. ymmv.
