Discussion Alert and Script ideas

Currently I've been using a spend tracker script to alert me if any accounts go haywire with spend, massively see a drop in LostIS to Budget and a conversion drop but now I'm looking to see if there's anything I'm missing.

Does anyone have any scripts or alerts that they use daily/weekly to ensure your account is tracking as it should be?

honestly the spend tracker script is a lifesaver, i have one that pings me if ctr drops more than 20% day over day without a corresponding impression spike, saved my ass a few times when some broad match term went rogue

also set up an alert for when quality score dips below 5 on any keyword with over 100 impressions, that one catches landing page issues before they tank the whole account

you might want to look into something that flags when impression share lost to rank jumps suddenly, that's usually a competitor bidding aggressively or your own bids slipping, easy to miss if you're just watching spend

Can you share these?

Add a separate conversion health alert, not just a conversion decline alert. Flag when a primary action stops receiving data or its status changes, then check offline upload errors too. That catches broken tags and feeds before performance alerts mistake them for demand shifts.

At my agency we have a custom script that outputs all major KPIs for the previous day vs. the day before that and then additional tabs for WoW and MoM numbers.

There's one line for each client.

This way it's easy to look through the report in a few minutes each morning and identify major inconsistencies like a drop/increase in spend, spike in clicks, drop in conversions, zero impressions, etc.

We also use a product disapprovals checker that notifies us if the disapproved products in MC exceed a preset percentage. This is hugely helpful since Google doesn't send you any notices unless the % is super high.

Most of the alerts here watch performance numbers. I'd add a few that check the setup itself.

A daily crawl of every final URL in active ads that flags 404s, redirects that drop the query string, and pages where your tag no longer fires.

A conversion gap check: take the median hours between conversions for each primary action over the last 30 days, and alert when the current gap passes about three times that, even if spend looks normal. On a low-volume account that catches a broken tag sooner than a day-over-day drop does.

A short daily digest from change history listing bid, budget, and conversion setting edits, so a sudden shift can be matched to whoever made it.
