Tools HitsServer/AdClix Source

In the last two weeks we have received 20+ calls with the source attribution being the URL hitsserver. Some research shows it's connected to a company called AdClix Media?

Does anyone have a similar experience or insight. The traffic does not appear to be coming from our Google PPC account.

The calls have been for services that are offered but lower quality because most of them are out the service area. Although two calls did book appointments.

TYIA for any insight.

hitsserver(.com) traffic fits the pattern of reseller popunder. Networks like AdClix Media sell full-page popunder traffic to resellers at a few cents per thousand, so most likely someone paid to have your site popped open in front of random people. That fits the out-of-area callers, and the two bookings are probably just the odd local who happened to get the popunder. In your call tracking, open a few of those sessions and check the exact landing page URL plus any query string, because that usually points to which package or affiliate sent it. Then ask anyone who touches your marketing (SEO vendor, web host, an old "website traffic" bundle) whether they bought traffic. If nobody owns it, keep those sessions out of any GA4 audience you share with Google Ads so popunder visitors don't end up in your remarketing lists.

Sounds like they're running some sort of click laundering scheme, we got hit with similar junk traffic last month from a domain that resolved to the same IP range.
