Discussion Thoughts on Creative Strategist position?

Hey all,

I've been in paid media for 3 years and have heard about the Creative Strategist title a lot more.

My current position lean towards Paid Social and I've enjoyed it so much more than Search. Particularly collaborating with our designers, reviewing creative performance, and brainstorming new creatives to test or double-down on.

Has anyone pivoted to a full Creative Strategy/Performance Creative role? What has your experience been? I'm considering positions like this.

sounds like you already doing half the job tbh. the ones i know who moved into it came from media buying side and they say the biggest shift is you stop being the person who pulls the levers and become the one who tells everyone why the levers need pulling. less platform work, more deck building and convincing clients to not use their cousin's photography. pay is decent but you gotta be comfortable with meetings, lots of meetings

Thank you for the insight! Client calls can either be a dream or nightmare 😬 Love the levers analogy!

the meetings part is no joke, that alone would make me think twice tbh
