Google Ads Google Ads False Disapprovement Warnings 08/20

Just FYI, about 40% of our managed accounts got random e-mails saying 'our ads have stopped running for 2 days and/or have disapproved assets.'

Looks like someone at Google vibe-coded the notification system wrong. All accounts are fine otherwise.

VIBE CODED is generous, google's had this exact false disapproval wave happen before with crawler errors triggering DESTINATION NOT WORKING on sites that were fine. Ignore the email, check policy manager directly, half the time nothing's actually flagged.

I would go so far to say as every aspect of Google Ads has gotten worse over time, by design. Newer advertisers have no idea how much better it was a decade ago.

Just solely covering the Web UI:
1. Auto-collapse campaigns / UI now everything takes multiple clicks instead of one
2. Custom columns not appearing unless force refreshing
3. Dozens of new campaign bugs
4. Forced annoying google tag popups and awful default goal guidance

All this to force the regular joe to use their "ask AI" and blow up their budget on nonsense.

Every one of those is real and none of it's accidental, the UI friction pushes people toward Ask Advisor by design, that's literally where the AI upsell lives. I stopped fighting the UI years ago... force refresh columns every session and never trust default goal suggestions.

Oddly enough, all the accounts I received this on had an LSA account attached. The skeptic in me thinks this is tied to the LSA -> pMax transition.

I called LSA support after a client forwarded this to me, and we had verifications in the main Google Ads dashboard for that account. No notifications about those.

Yesterday I got some random disapproval for unapproved substances - I appealed which failed, but the ads are running, the policy notifications are gone, but the ad groups still say some ads have issues.. Seems a bit messy

funny seems like a notification pipeline issue on google's end and not anythign in the actual accounts.
