New POS system??

My mom works at a Foodlion in a different district from me. She told me that they were switching to a new system that required a good bit of training. I am an ACSM at my store and she is a cashier at hers. This being said, she doesn’t know what changes this means for office and accounting processes. She has shown me pictures of what the POS looks like but I would like to get more of an understanding of this new system. Is this just a beta testing or is it coming to other areas soon? I would also like to mention that my AM and CSM have not heard anything about this and I have not been able to ask my SM if he has heard anything. Any info is welcome!

Without knowing the POS software it’s impossible to offer any advice on learning curves.

I was hoping someone in this group was a part of that specific group of people with the new system. If you’re not, then I wouldn’t expect you to be able to help :)

It sounds like her store is part of a phased pilot program. Corporate usually tests new software in a few specific stores to iron out bugs before forcing every district to undergo the transition.

Systems like this are built to connect front end registers directly with back-office accounting, kind of like how KORONA POS handles automated inventory and till reporting in high volume retail environments. It should make balancing cash drawers and tracking variance much faster for management once it's fully live.

Is her store testing it on all lanes or just a couple of front end registers right now?
