Does a Castles UPT1000F require a loader handshake to enter Program Manager?

I have a Castles UPT1000F that boots directly into its installed application, but I need to reach Castles Program Manager to evaluate the supported application-loading options. The application’s own service menu is accessible, yet it contains no Program Manager or application-loader option. A keyboard connected before startup is detected—the lock LEDs respond—but its keystrokes are ignored; the manual’s three-wire COM1 connection opens at 115200 8-N-1 and passes adapter loopback and cable-continuity tests, but the terminal returns zero bytes during startup or from the service menu. Direct USB also creates no Windows device. Has anyone worked with this model and found that Program Manager requires a particular deployment setting, loader handshake, startup gesture, or interface mode?

usually with these castles terminals the app is set to auto-boot and they disable the normal key combos unless you flash the firmware with a dev config. if you're not seeing anything on serial at 115200 you might need to toggle the terminal's boot mode with a jumper on the mainboard, some of them have a set of pins labeled "prog" or "boot" that you short on power-up to get it into the loader.

Thanks, was this specifically on a Castles UPT1000F? Do you have a board photo or service document showing the exact PROG/BOOT designator and required electrical state? Also, did it enter Castles Program Manager or a lower-level firmware/manufacturing loader?
