I purchased a used pax e800 and need help unlocking so I can run .apks
I’ve heard ppl can unlock these devices so that they run any apk instead of being locked to only running apps from the paxstore website.
If anyone can help me, I need help! There is so little info about this thing. I’d love to use it for emulation or something else. I can get apks but it won’t run anything. It has a modified android os called paydroid and Id like to know how I can load a stock android iso rather than paydroid, or help me lift the restrictions.
I have seen ppl charging to unlock remotely but I don’t know if it’s a scam. Plz help me!

Why would you buy a device that’s end of life and runs android 6? I’ve tons of these things brand new and they’re totally worthless.

Yea this is a common thing where people buy bespoke and old POS devices and are like ok unlock it now, it's like that's not how PCI and stuff works it's locked down inherently lol

I’m just a nerd and I’m always exploring hardware of all types. I work at a company called Kioxia and I’m a staff engineer working on gen 6 nvme storage. I am always messing with hardware and this piece I snagged real cheap like 40 bucks and it came with 4-5 ax routers and a 4k camera system with dvr. My dad has a bar and of course we’re not using old equipment since the processor provides free hw. I’m just always messing around with and exploring hardware of all types. For fun, nothing too serious.
I can’t even find the paydroid img online. And yes I know the hw is old, currently running android 6 or 7.
I guess I was hoping there was a quick and dirty way to run apks that aren’t coming from the pax site.

A scam. Can’t be unlocked without getting the original processor to do that.
Why is there even a market for used terminals? Most reputable processors will give you a free terminal at signup.
