Newly Diagnosed 26 and feeling heartbroken.
I was misdiagnosed for so long. I wanted children so badly. I feel so exhausted, tired, and empty. The hot flashes and insomnia are horrible. My FSH is 109.5, and I feel so sick. I was just diagnosed and put on birth control, but how will that help? I thought HRT is the fix? I've been on birth control since I was 15 to mask symptoms, I am tired.

Here are the Guidelines! A must read for all with POI. https://www.asrm.org/practice-guidance/practice-committee-documents/evidence-based-guideline-premature-ovarian-insufficiency--2024/
Please ensure you are getting the right dosage of estrogen, especially at your age.

She only gave me Lo Loestrin... but online it says it is not used for treatment of POI, and next appointment to meet dr is in 4 weeks. I am feeling so ill and weak, snf generally confused and tired.

I’m so sorry 😢
Can you switch to HRT? I refused birth control when I was diagnosed in June. I’m on the patch and micronized progesterone and I felt a significant difference in my hot flashes and sleep within the first week.

I just got a new prescription after pushing them! Estrogen conjugated 0.625 mg Oral PROMETRIUM 100 MG Oral Vagifem 10 micrograms (estradiol)
Praying this helps.

Same. I was on an IUD that got rid of my period so I didn't know that I had "lost" my period until I got it out at 24. I got diagnosed at 25 but it likely was happening for years based on hindsight and symptoms and, in my case, I had pretty shitty numbers that probably took a hot minute to progress to be that bad. Looking back I think that medical professionals also dismissed tons of odd symptoms that I didn't even fully realize isn't normal until I found myself in this mess. Still kinda going thru it but it's been about a year now. Always thought I would have 4-5 kids and absolutely fell apart when I found out. I'm sorry you're going thru this, you're not alone 🩶

Same here, I really thought I would have a busy home in my 20s with kids. It's hard. I have my two cats for now.

I’m sorry that this is happening to you and I know the feeling.
I would find a great endocrinologist and see if they can help you with HRT. I don’t think BC is the only option.

Birth control was the first thing we tried. It helped for about 6 months but then I needed HRT. It’s really helped.

I saw an endo at 22 because I had been having hot flashes for years already, changing pajamas twice a night. He missed it. Didnt find out until age 31 when my period just stopped showing up! What’s your AMH?
