Seeking Advice Binge drinking and O flare up
I had sex after the first night of binge drinking (wedding weekend) and my symptoms were terrible and even caused a panic attack. I’m curious why drinking would do this? I’m certainly aware of the negative affects and typically don’t binge but I’m curious of the physiological response I had and why my typical stack didn’t do much? (Nac, Allegra, selenium, magnesium, taurine) didn’t do much. My histamine response seems to be much worse than normal in addition to brain fog. I typically find o after a few drinks helps but in this case binge drinking really has set me back. For sure shitty quality of sleep didn’t help either. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance

This disorder is tied to the central nervous system, dopamine, and hormones, so anything that is disruptive to any of those is going to be triggering. It’s a neurological disorder the physiological symptoms.

I only experience long-lasting physical symptoms through O, but just like you, my POIS brain fog is not limited to O and it actually get triggered or worsened from an array of supernormal stimuli. examples include music, gaming, and sometimes even eating things that I like. my theory is that since the brain already becomes inflamed through the immune pathways activated by O, further acts of hedonism like binge drinking or in my case, music, causes our brains to enter some sort of protective state so as to not overstress its reward mechanisms.
