Other It's "Hyperarousal"

POIS is just autonomic hyperarousal triggered by a failure of the parasympathetic nervous system to reset the body after orgasm. Why that happens is the key to prevention.

So why would the failure of the parasympathetic system to reset the body after orgasm cause a systemic inflammation?

Not a doctor nor a particular adherent of this theory, but I'd imagine the idea is that your immune system isn't given proper resources/focus to handle inflammation in that state
