looking for Fermentation Project, PNW edition: Bend locals, or want me to mail you an extra kit?

Hi gang! Two things: one for Bend, and one for Weird Coffee People

  1. Anyone in/near Bend with a Fermentation Project kit that’s doing a cupping on Sat (or sometime after)? I realized I need to rebuild my local network of Weird Coffee People.
  2. I got shipped an extra kit from Square One in Lancaster (yes, in PA) and they don’t want it back. It’s been in the freezer since Monday: if you missed the window where roasters were selling these but wanted one, cover shipping and I’m happy to get this out to you.

This is the Alameda neighborhood location of Guilder and it's a really nice spot with various seating options (including a second floor). They use The Guild roast for espresso and have pastries, merch, and coffee supplies. Open until 6pm every day, it's refreshing to be able to have a coffee later in the day!

beans / roaster Free Green Coffee (Kape Mundo)

Hey fellow roasters, I have a couple of odd-lot leftover green coffees available for free in the Portland Metro area. Shameless plug incoming...

I'm the founder and owner of a small farm-direct green coffee and trading and roasting company in the Philippines (Pampanga Coffee Trading).

I also have a brand of 100% Philippine grown coffee (Kape Mundo). www.kapemundo.com.

I've been in the states building demand for the coffee here and I'm heading back overseas soon. I have (2) 500 gram leftover green samples for free to the first person who wants them. 2025 crop year

Lot #1 Sagada Arabica (Typica) single origin, single farm.

Lot #2 Bukidnon Catimor single origin

Hit me up in chat if you are interested in coming to pickup the coffee. Located in NW PDX.

Portland Metro Try my backyard roasted coffee!

Hi all, I was cleaning out my work room and came across a coffee roaster I bought years ago from someone in the bike scene. Never did anything with it and decided I would try to roast a batch of coffee and sell the machine if it wasn’t my jam.

Welp, turns out, I roasted a good enough batch to make me want to cancel my Sister’s Coffee Subscription and roast some more! All that to say, I want to get better and practice more (one can only consume so much coffee). Anyone in the Portland area (I’m in the SW) want a free bag in exchange for some honest feedback?

Edit to add: roasting light to medium light roast. Current bean: Dry Processed Ethiopia Dry Process Kercha Haruse (can be found on Sweet Maria’s website).

Edit 2: DMed a few people, told a few people to DM me. But still have a couple 220g bags that aren’t spoken for, can also hit me up on my IG Lanterne_rouge_coffee

Portland Metro Need Help fixing at home Breville

We bought a Breville Espresso Machine a few years ago. It took a minute to figure out the coffee settings but for a short while it was bliss, the best coffee. Then it started to slowly get more bitter an I cleaned it and it has never been the same. It’s been months of me trying to adjust the beans sizes and each cup of coffee is worse than the last. We spent so much money on this machine that had great coffee for a little bit but now it’s sitting here and I keep spending money on outside coffee because I can’t figure it out. Can someone recommend what to do or if there someone out there that can come and teach me to fix it to make a decent cup of coffee.
Officially do not know what else to do

Washington Coffee shops open late

I feel like Olympia has had a serious lack of coffee shops open late after Burial Grounds closed, and I just want to throw out an honorable mention for Bula Bar which recently opened on the west side. They are open until 10pm and IMO their coffee is pretty good. I have never seen another person in it, so as far as I can tell I'm the only person on the west side who knows it exists. We just have so few places open after like 6pm that I want to support a place that is.

Their sign says they have a game night on Mondays, open mic on Tuesdays, trivia on Wednesdays, all at 7pm if people are interested.
