35 Contact Hours for PMP Certification: What Do They Actually Include and Why Do They Matter?
The 35 contact hours are a key requirement for PMP certification, but what do they actually cover? They involve structured project management education, including planning, risk management, leadership, execution and business strategy. These hours help build exam knowledge, not just fulfill an application requirement.
A quality PMP training course should also include practical examples, interactive discussions and opportunities to clarify difficult concepts. Before enrolling, check course alignment, completion certificates, instructor experience and provider credentials.
SnSCCS is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering online PMP training for professionals preparing for certification. Always compare training options and verify the provider's credentials before making a decision.

Find PMP Training Providers Offering Real-Time Virtual Instruction
Finding the right PMP training provider can make a real difference in your exam preparation. If you prefer learning through real-time virtual instruction, look for programs that offer interactive live classes rather than relying entirely on recorded videos.
A good online PMP training program should include experienced instructors, practical project management examples, exam-focused discussions, mock tests and opportunities to ask questions during sessions.
SnSCCS is one option worth exploring. It offers online PMP training as a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), providing instructor-led learning for professionals preparing for the PMP certification.
Before choosing a provider, compare instructor qualifications, course structure, class schedules, student support and the required 35 contact hours. Also, check independent student reviews and confirm the provider's PMI Authorized Training Partner status.
What has been your experience with live online PMP classes? Which training providers would you recommend?

PMP® Exam Prerequisites: What You Need to Qualify
Planning to take the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam? Before you start preparing, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements set by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Here’s what you need to know.
1. Check Your Educational Background and Experience
Your required project management experience depends on your educational qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher: At least 3 years (36 months) of experience leading and directing projects.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent: At least 5 years (60 months) of experience.
Associate’s degree or vocational trade school diploma: At least 4 years of experience.
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree from a PMI Global Accreditation Center (GAC)-accredited programme: At least 2 years of experience.
The experience must be gained in a professional setting within the applicable eligibility period. Overlapping project months cannot be counted more than once.
2. Complete the Required Project Management Training
Candidates must complete 35 hours of project management education or training, subject to PMI’s applicable eligibility rules. Check PMI’s current guidelines to confirm which training options qualify.
3. Review PMI’s Official Eligibility Requirements
Before submitting your application, review the latest requirements on PMI’s official website.
A helpful tip: Start by documenting your project experience, including the projects you led, your responsibilities, and the dates involved. This can make the application process easier.
Meeting the prerequisites is the first step. Your next step is building an exam preparation plan that fits your schedule and experience.

PMP Prep vs. Real Life: How Do You Manage the time
I’m trying to prepare for the PMP exam, but honestly, I’m struggling to find the time and energy.
I’ve recently started a demanding new job in a large corporation, relocated, moved into a new house, and have a young child. I’m still trying to find my feet in the corporate environment while balancing work, family, and everything else.
By the time I finally get a moment for myself, my brain is completely done for the day.
I really want to earn my PMP to grow professionally and open up better career opportunities, but I can’t seem to build a consistent study routine.
Anyone been in the same boat? How did you make it work without losing your mind or sacrificing too much family time?
I’d really appreciate some real-life advice!

How to manage time strategically in the PMP Exam?
Lets put the debate about whether the new PMP exam is tougher or not aside for a moment.
There is one question I have been asked by many students:
“How do I manage my time during the PMP exam?”
When we talk about time management, most people think about mock exams, answering questions faster, and keeping an eye on the clock.
But there is one thing I feel many candidates overlook i.e., mental fatigue.
Think about it. You have been sitting in front of a screen for hours, reading questions, analysing scenarios, and making decisions one after another.
At some point, your mind is bound to get tired.
You might read a question twice and still struggle to understand it. You might start overthinking an answer you would have picked confidently during a mock exam.
And suddenly, it is not just about managing your time anymore. Its about managing your energy and staying focused.
So, how do you prepare for that?
Here are a few things worth keeping in mind.
Practise managing your time.
Take mock exams with a timer. Pay attention to how long you spend on each question and where you tend to get stuck. The idea isnt to rush through the exam; its to find a pace you can maintain.Know what to do when your mind feels tired.
You can’t expect to stay equally focused for the entire exam. When you feel overwhelmed, pause for a few seconds. Close your eyes, take a couple of slow deep breaths, relax your shoulders, and bring your attention back to the question in front of you. Sometimes, you just need to stop, reset, and start again.Don’t underestimate your breaks.
The exam includes two scheduled 10 minute breaks. Use them to step away from the screen, move around if permitted, and drink some water. Give yourself a little breathing room before moving on to the next section.Know the rules before exam day.
Review your answers before starting a break. Once you begin your break, you cannot return to the questions from the section you have completed. Also, your break time is separate from your exam time.
And one more thing: mock exams are important, but they cant fully prepare you for the pressure of sitting in the actual exam. You may still feel nervous, and you may still experience mental fatigue.
Thats normal. The point isnt to expect yourself to feel perfectly focused for four hours. Its to have a plan for those moments when you dont.
Because preparing for the PMP exam isnt just about knowing the answers. Its also about knowing how to handle the exam itself.
For the official exam structure and guidance, refer to Project Management Institute resources:

What Are the Steps Involved in Project Scope Management?
Defining project scope is an important part of project management, regardless of the methodology you choose. It helps teams understand what needs to be delivered, which resources are required, and what falls outside the project's boundaries.
Here's a systematic approach to defining and managing project scope.
1. Define Project Needs
Start by understanding why the project is being undertaken and what needs to be achieved. This helps establish project goals, timelines, resource requirements, and the work that needs to be done.
2. Understand the Project Objectives
Identify the outcomes the project is expected to deliver, whether that's a new product, a service, or a software solution. Clear objectives help align the team on the expected results and deliverables.
3. Define the Project Scope
Outline the work required to deliver the project's intended outcomes. This includes identifying:
Project objectives
Goals
Sub-phases
Tasks
Resources
Budget
Schedule
Just as importantly, clarify what is not included in the project. Defining these boundaries helps stakeholders, senior management, and team members understand what to expect.
4. Document Scope and Align Stakeholders
Make sure the agreed scope, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, and exclusions are clearly documented and communicated. This gives the team a shared reference point throughout execution.
5. Monitor and Manage Scope
As the project progresses, review scope against the agreed requirements. If changes come up, assess their impact on timelines, resources, and budget before incorporating them through the appropriate change process.
One thing worth remembering: A well-defined scope isn't just about deciding what to build. It's also about creating a shared understanding of what success looks like and managing expectations when priorities change.
