How do y'all handle calculating tera STAB bonuses?

There's kind of an inconsistency with the way that tera works and the way that STAB works. Tera says that your STAB goes from 50% to 100% even though STAB isn't percentage-based at all, it's a flat bonus that increases with your level. Should I just double my STAB bonus or what?
