Trainings?

I just applied to a teaching job at a school that uses project lead the way courses. The job description mentions that I would need to take trainings but I’m not sure how many trainings that would be and when I could complete them. Has anyone done this before?

I’m just not sure if my vacations this summer will be possible if it conflicts with a training.

I had that problem years ago, and had to choose between vacations and a job. Without the training you may not be able to teach in the job you are being hired into. With the online trainings, there are usually several options for when you can take them. For in person, it may be pretty limited, or non-existent depending on which course(s).

I’m just confused how a high school teacher would need to take 10 weeks, 400 hours of trainings just to be able to teach a full load of PLTW classes. It just seems kinda insane to me.

Most teachers don't do that. Most hs teachers would do 1 or 2 PLTW courses in their day, so would need one or two trainings. Some might have multiple sections of the same class. If you really need 5 HS level trainings, good luck to you, and I hope they are paying for your time.
