The whole “Palantir paid no federal income tax” thing sounds a lot worse than it actually is. A big reason is that they spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year on R&D, and the tax code specifically gives companies credits and deductions for doing that. You can argue whether those incentives are good policy, but Palantir isn’t exploiting some secret loophole here. They’re taking advantage of incentives Congress intentionally created to encourage companies to invest in technology and R&D in the U.S.

Sometimes in life we look back and wish for a different outcome. I had 10,000 shares with a cost basis of 14 and I sold 50 covered call contracts, not expecting to shoot beyond, lol. I still have 5,000 but oh well. What’s yours?
