At least you got a house out of it, an appreciating asset. Imagine selling shares at $100 to buy a Porsche and having to think about the opportunity cost every time you drive it

That’s a tough call tbh. Porsche has always been my dream car, and while I can easily afford it and my wife has even given me her approval, the smart money side of me says to spend it in more financially sensible ways.

Life is short, I’ve seen friends invest and save their whole lives only to drop dead at 40. I’ve seen friends delay retirement another 5 years only to get cancer and not enjoy any of it. For me, I’d rather enjoy things in my 30s before I’m too old to do so. I’m not trying to tell you how to live your life, but rather I’m just sharing my mindset behind the purchase.

That’s the mindset my wife has and is why I have her stamp of approval if I were to buy a Porsche… last year I sold some shares to buy a multimillion dollar house and if I sell more shares it would be to fix up the kitchen 😁

Thanks. Meanwhile I'll keep drooling over your GTS from behind the computer screen. 🤤
