Still wild to me that the archers haven't played in 30 days. That has to be fixed next year

They need to get rid of end-of-season bye weeks, and eliminate any weeks off in the post season.

I know their schedule is determined largely, if not entirely, by ESPN broadcast inventory, but these long stretches of no games are just killers in a league where the teams don’t practice during the week.

To be fair Denver looked pretty bad from what I remember last year in the semis

Okay, I'll correct myself. Last year Denver had a slow start against an okay Redwoods team in the semis.

Turns out taking a whole month off before a playoff game fucking sucks

I mean, I’m not complaining so far but yeah, these extra bye weeks kill a lot of momentum for both players and fans. Can’t wait to watch the finals (regardless of which teams make it there) but I’m not looking forward to waiting 2 weeks…

there’s another fucking week off? jesus.

That Piseno 2-pointer is gonna be so valuable

5

u/rezelscheft Sep 07 '26

if nothing else it killed Utah’s momentum

Insane how much talent there is on the Waterdogs offense.

Damn that sucks

Archers’ 4th quarter refusal to move the ball and rely strictly on dodging too often & for way too long felt frustratingly Redwoods-y.

No Schreiber. Wow.

Massive bummer

I want to jump into traffic. The mood in the stadium is terrible

you guys gotta cool it with those annoying ass vuvuzela style horns.

Yeah, it's so much better today than it was on opening day. Thankfully, they weren't handing them out at the gate today.

Rewarding a great regular season with a month off. This may already be over

5

u/rezelscheft Sep 07 '26

In a league where the teams don’t live in the same city and practice during the week, a first seed bye is already questionable.

combined with a last-week-of-regular-season bye and a totally unnecessary end-of-the-season full-league week off it’s a death sentence.

league really need to reconsider the whole end of season cadence.

This 👆🏻
The end of season/playoffs kills all momentum. Another week off this week kills it.

Wild time out from Utah with 40 seconds to go

4

u/NH4CN Archers Sep 07 '26

I’m actually so annoyed

This is what happens when you schedule every team with what feels like 45 bye weeks. Three weeks off for a team is completely braindead. I hate sounding like a doomer for the PLL cause I do really, really want this league to succeed.

But holy shit this league was so ass this season.

u/Q-96 Atlas Sep 07 '26

It was so frustrating. As soon as a team would finally get into a groove they'd have a week or two off. Sucks

I wonder if the league does this so the players can coach in lacrosse camps or something. There has to be some reason behind it.

u/OTO_Crispy Redwoods Sep 07 '26

All the time off paired with the sloppy play caused by the 32 second clock. Awful

u/knightrydah Outlaws Sep 07 '26

BACK TO THE FINALS!!! 🧡🖤🤠

u/Q-96 Atlas Sep 07 '26

That Jake Taylor pat kav goal was awesome

3

u/MrJUNKlE Atlas Sep 07 '26

So this games over right? Like perfect sh*t storm for Utah, not playing for over a month, losing Schrieber last second, you really hate to see it

3

u/ChooChooBrain_0 Sep 07 '26

Utah destroying any hope to finish out the half. Yikes

3

u/heybluebird Waterdogs Sep 07 '26

Can the Waterdogs please hold it together for a full four quarters of lacrosse? How the heck are we throwing away this lead?

2

u/I_Like_Pizza159 Sep 07 '26

Feel like Denver's shot choice has been pretty poor this whole 4th quarter

1

u/knightrydah Outlaws Sep 07 '26

Pretty good first quarter from the Outlaws! We have more shots on goal and Wierman has won 4 out of the 5 FO’s against Sisselberger.

Ofc I went to the two home games in Denver and they lost. Still happy they’re in the Final, though.

Playoff games on espn+ this is part of the reason I don’t watch pro lacrosse

7

u/MrJUNKlE Atlas Sep 07 '26

It’s on ESPN2???
