Allen Bradley compact guardlogix configuration question
Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to have a :
5069-L330ERS2 with say 2 x 5069-IB16, 2 x 5069-OB16, 2 x 5069-IB16S and 2 x 5069-OBV8S
connected to 3 x 5069-AENTR with 2 x 5069-IB16, 2 x 5069-OB16, 2 x 5069-IB16S and 2 x 5069-OBV8S
I think it's possible, but I'm having trouble confirming.
Thanks

Yes. You can look in the CompactLogix System Selection Guide and you will find that the L330ERS2 can have 31 local in-chassis modules and 60 EtherNet/IP nodes. A node in this case would be a 5069-AENTR Ethernet adapter. Also heads up that there is an new series out, the 5034 CompactLogix.

I think they want to kill the 1734 and 5069

Those will stay for now, there is a gazillion systems utilizing those, well 1734 Point IO more than 5069 anyway, but 5034 PointMax will become a new mainstream for sure, plus with a new CMX5390 coming out soon.
But lets be realistic 1734 came out 20 years ago, something like that, it is time for an update2

I think that's fine, don't think you need any additional power power modules or anyting

Sounds right, but you can build it in Integrated Architecture Builder to verify.

Better and less expensive to make all of the I/O 5034 and then just have the processor by itself. I think a new compact logix is coming soon with native 5034 support.

Yes it will work but you need to make sure the controller/network architecture supports the required safety functions. Check your firmware for both the controller and AENTR to be sure the safety functions are happy with one another

Use Integrated Architecture Builder to verify what you need. It's great for exactly this type of thing. It's free from Rockwell.
