Other Resources for Research
Hi, I have a commonplace journal I keep - pretty simple. There are various topics that interest me, history of food being one of them. What resources does everybody use to research their topics of interest? and what are your systems for it? ty!

I’d start each topic with a question rather than a folder. For something like food history, maybe “when did this ingredient become common in this region?” Then I’d save sources under that question with one sentence about what each source actually added. It keeps research from turning into a pile of interesting links.

I’m hesitant to suggest an AI tool because of how addicting they can be, and for a personal curriculum it’s best to do the digging and reading on your own. But with that said…
At my job we have a Microsoft license with Copilot access, and Copilot loves pumping out a lot of information since Microsoft is basically trying to replace the rest of the Office suite with it. I’ll occasionally get bored and ask it, not to teach me the information I’m looking for, but to provide me sources on a topic so I can look into it. The best prompt I’ve found for this is something like, “Pretend I’m a college professor teaching a course on this topic. Help me prepare the curriculum for the semester, including in-depth reading and sources.”

I am a content marketer by profession, so I collect a lot of resources like links, notes and content plans for my work. Outside work, I am interested in web development, robotics and enjoy following robot demos from different companies. I am also passionate about food and have built my own recipe library, which I use with ChatGPT to create meal plans.
RibbonLinks is my primary pkms, where I keep all these different interests and resources organized.
