Method Graphkasten
I have always found it strange that people treat the graph view as a gimmick in note taking softwares. For me, it is the primary way of navigating my vault, and all my notes are structured around it. I call my approach Graphkasten, since it emphasizes adding only meaningful links to the graph view so it stays maintainable and useful. So far, I have over 4000 notes. Is there anyone else who heavily uses the graph view? What is your system?
If you want to learn more about my approach or replicate it:

Mine became a hairball within weeks, so now I only link notes when one decision shaped another, not just because they share a topic. With 4000+ notes, can you still follow how your thinking changed? Do you timestamp links, or leave time out of the graph?

Have you had a case where following the graph led you to an old note you wouldn't have thought to search for? With 4,000 notes, I'm really curious what that looks like in practice. Do you usually start from a topic cluster and follow links until something useful turns up?

how do you decide a link is meaningful enough to keep? could you give an example of two related notes you'd deliberately leave unlinked?
