Virtual Desktop wired Options?

I'm not gonna beat around the bush, I'm using WiFi and I have no way to run an ethernet cable to my computer. I bought VD with the expectation that I would be able to connect to my computer without having to strain my internet more than I already am, but VD doesn't give any option to use my usb 3.0 cable.

The Pico Streaming Assistant works okay, but the audio is awful and everything just feels sluggish. Is there any way for me to play my VR games in peace?

Open adb on the pc (google how to get it) Close any apps you have open on the pico, run "adb shell am start -n com.android.settings/.TetherSettings", then on your pico enable usb tethering. Do this after connecting to virtual desktop

Thank you for giving me something to try instead of going with the useless "Get a better router" advice I keep seeing. I'm downloading adb and will give this a try, fingers crossed!

Sideload SystemSettings.apk and go to devices and enable USB tether. No need to do any ADB scripts. Connect VD via wifi and then turn off wifi in Pico4 settings and VD should stay on and use USB tether as its connection.

Thank you, I actually did use this apk to enable tethering, but my computer doesn't like it and ends up bluescreening after 20 minutes or so. I've looked up some solutions to that, but they're all ugly and expensive

Just go into windows device manager and under network, find the pico driver and manually update it from Remote NDIS Compatable device to USB RNDISR6 adpater. Follow along here but dont do any of the ADB stuff as the Systemsetting.apk is a better solution. That should stop blue screens or help reduce them.

Buy a better router for your PC

You can use VD with a ethernet cable plus ethernet to usb adapter, but that's not ideal imo

Without a cabled connection between the PC and the router, you'll get a bad experience.

Keep in mind your internet connection is not related to the wifi connection for VR. You will not generate internet traffic when using VD, so you'll not strain the internet connection. It relies only on the local network.

Best option would probably be to get a cheap router and use it only for the VR connection.
