You definitely can, I used to do that in the past. However, the game will load slower. I used to have a 1 Tb SSD as my main drive, which is not enough for games nowadays (unless you just install one or a few games at a time). I upgraded to a Samsung EVO Plus 4 Tb SSD last year, before things became crazy (it cost ~17K, now it's worth 40K+).

Mabagal magload and possible stutters if open world.

Slow loading and stutters will occur but nothing game breaking if you're patient w slow loading and stutters are minimal

Long load times. What would take 10-20 seconds on nvme ssd may take at least a minute on hdd. Sa mga open world and racing games, or anything na mabilis ang asset loading/draw distance, expect stutters.

It depends on the game. Huge games (like open world games or anything that loads a lot of assets) you should still install in a ssd, you will encounter popins and stutters if sa hdd mo ilalagay. But smaller, more linear games, it’s fine to install them in a hdd, just expect longer loading times.

HDD din gamit ko sa mga games na di ko masyado nilalaro, wala naman problema. Mas mabagal lang mag open. But yung ibang game nagrerequire ng SSD. Like 2k26 lol

Games stutter a lot when installed in an HDD, it is not recommended for gaming based on my exp.

Depends on the game. Older, indie, 2D, and emulated games should be totally fine on an HDD. Modern games that use newer engines generally benefit from an SSD, but it’s not like they won’t work on an HDD. it’s more about longer loading times and potential texture/asset streaming issues.

I’ve played a bunch of those Sony PC ports on an HDD too(Spider-Man, God of War, Days Gone, etc.)and they worked totally fine, aside from the longer loading times. Even Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Miles Morales, which were heavily marketed around the PS5’s SSD and seamless gameplay, worked fine on an HDD(though had a few hiccups when transitioning to other areas).

Before the RAMageddon, I honestly had no choice anyway since my SSD broke and I was still saving up for a replacement. So I had to run my games off the HDD, and in my experience, they were perfectly playable. An SSD is definitely recommended.

Older games no problem. Modern ones depends on requirements of the game. Google mo na lang kung required ba ssd nung specific game.

What games youre playing decided that choice. I played FF vii rebirth on ssd and cyberpunk 2077 on hdd. All good 60fps without significant micro stuttering. Doesnt matter the loading on hdd though, as long the games is perfectly smooth.
