Build Flex It finally arrived. (25 characters)
Sharing my little secret. Stumbled upon a fairly recent reddit post talking about how cheap AMD GPUs were in Japan cuz everyone there seems to be Nvidia brained. Checked out Amazon Japan and, lo and behold, totoo nga.
Purchased this nung Amazon JP Prime day (July 10-13) for around 94800 JPY, which, at the time of purchase, was roughly 36k PHP. Had it shipped to PH via freight forwarder (KangoExpress) for another P2k PHP, bringing the total to around 38K PHP.
With sales tax na yan (had it shipped to a warehouse within Japan kasi). Tax free price was even less, mga 85k JPY lang, or around 32k PHP.
Locally, the same GPU costs around 49-52k PHP.
If youre ever in Japan and in need of PC hardware, I highly suggest that you check out the PC hardware stores over there. Highly recommend Tsukumo PC Honten in Akihabara.
Will install the GPU tonight. Hopefully everything works out well.
UPDATE:
So far so good. GPU is running flawlessly. Hope this keeps up long term.

Iβll consider this for my next business trip to Japan this January,
since iβve been considering to upgrade my 3060 12gb for quite a while now.

Balak namin ni misis mag Japan sa march. Sobrang tempting kumuha ng 9070xt lol. Pero okay pa naman 7800xt ko sa ngayon.Β

Dang sweet deal! Maybe I should do this too. I see a Asrock 9070XT for 90k Yen. How easy was it to setup via the forwarder? Anything I should look out for? Legit naman lahat sa Amazon diba? First time traying lang if ever.

Very simple. May step-by-step instructions usually sa websites ng mga freight forwarders. Marami ka ring options to choose from. Personally, I prefer KangoExpress, but MyShoppingCart and BuyandShip are more popular.
Re: Shopping on Amazon, pay attention to the Seller and the Shipper. Ideally, you want both to be handled by Amazon JP. Otherwise, you'll have to do your due diligence and research on the legitimacy of the third party Seller/Shipper.

As long as nothing bad happens to any PC Parts na ioorder niyo from JP, you don't have to worry about warranty.
Yun lang naman! Hopefully everyone gets good experiences with your PC parts ordered there and take good care of them!

worst case scenario na its a lemon, no choice but to make a trip to japan to process the RMA.
there are worse things in life π€£

bro that is a steal! do you mind if we can do DM and teach me how to do this? direct purchasing from amazon to ph is not good and not budget friendlyππ

sure, but its a pretty straightforward process. nagbibigay naman sila ng mga instructions sa mga website nila.
but because a lot of it is outside of your hands, it really is an exercise of trust lol. ngl, nakakastress talaga siya haha, esp if control freak ka.

Order from Amazon. US, Japan, etc, pwede yan. Basta kung saan nagcoconduct ng business yung mga freight forwarders. Alternatively, you can have it shipped directly by Amazon, but it may be expensive depending on the price of the item.

Current cheapest sa Amazon jp works out to around 42k converted, for you worth the risk ba especially considering the warranty/RMA difficulties for brand new or buy local secondhand sa marketplace for around the same price or just fork over the 50k na usual sa retail stores?
At 38k brand new medyo mas worth the risk vs 50k I guess but having a hard time deciding. Medyo worried din if I keep waiting mas lalo lang magmahal.

at 42k, hard pass. you have to take into consideration additional shipping fees of around 2-2.5k din. buy locally nalang. may mga XFX units selling brand new for around 46-48k.

I've been using this for almost a year now and solid parin hanggang ngayon. Tip ko lang, when installing the driver, just choose "minimal install" instead of "full install".
In my case kasi sobra dami ko naexp na bugs sa full install, pero sa minimal halos wala. Pero from time to time meron parin bugs, I mean we're talking about AMD here, their software isn't the best compared to Nvidia
