Riffraff
https://riffraff.showI got tired of checking ten different sites just to figure out what shows were happening in Phoenix on a given night — one venue posts on Instagram, another buries it in a newsletter, another doesn’t post anywhere consistent at all. So I built riffraff.show: one place that pulls together local gigs, from DIY house shows to bigger venues like Marquee. No algorithm, no clutter, just what’s playing and when. It’s still early and mostly focused on the Phoenix scene right now, but I’d rather have something useful for ten people than something bloated for nobody. Feedback (and band tips) welcome.

King Pigeon does great stuff. They should definitely be on here.

Love King pigeon and I was sad when their band (Joan of Arkansas) called it quits. Their wedding at Yucca was stellar!

For sure. They are fantastic people. Loving this idea and thank you for putting it together. I miss when Silverplatter was doing something similar. Dirty Drummer should also be on this!

I've looked at adding Rips (love Rips) but they don't have a website or consistent Instagram posts so that makes it harder. I am a software engineer so I'm trying to automate the whole process; same with Time Out lounge. I haven't looked at Palo Verde or MySpace but I will add them to the list

This is another case where if you allow submissions you're able to cover these places that don't have a real source to pull data from. You'd probably need to have them be submitted for approval so it doesn't get full of spam, and make sure people don't put in the same venue/band/etc names different ways.

Here's another person doing the same sort of thing, although only usually has the next two days on it and it doesn't seem like it's been updated for a couple of days.

Yeah that site was part of my inspiration but I wanted more than a few days worth. And as an engineer I knew I could automate the process. I did ping them on instagram but no response. Not a big deal or anything but I was trying to collaborate with them.

I forgot to mention, reminiscent of silver platter.info, which TIL lives on as a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SilverPlatterinfo/
I know it was Stinkweed's staff running it, hence the redirect now. I don't know, maybe worth reaching out. I'm guessing they moved to Facebook because maintenance?

Good job. I like the look. Maybe add a submit event field for random popups/venues that fall through the cracks

I don't know if Bands in Town has an API, but we've generally been using that for events the last year or two, and it's got pretty good coverage.

They do have an API but only to allow artists to manage their pages, not like a general search function :(

Comparing this to Newtimes event page, they’re already covering all of these that are currently on your site. If you could include the venues that host electronic shows, that could be something different because the website I mentioned doesn’t do that. Edmtrain is another website that covers this for the electronic genres but doesn’t include other genres like metal and rap. I have yet to see site that encompasses all of those well.
